The Riddick Collection [Blu-ray]

besides Star Wars, The Chronicles of Riddick universe is one of my favourite sci fi sagas. It includes the first 3 films, The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black(1st film), The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury (2nd film) and the 3rd is called The Chronicles of Riddick. It follows the story of a ex-convict called Riddick( Played by a man called Vin Diesel) who is one of the few people belonging to the furyan race left. In Pitch Black we are introduced to the him and the universe when he is trapped with other people on a desert world and they find out they are not alone. Dark Fury fills in the gap between Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick. The 3rd Film expands greatly on Riddicks character and where he came from. I also recommend to purchase the Riddick video games called The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. They are both prequels to Pitch Black and expand more on Riddick and Johns backstory and relationship. The 1st and 3rd film are in blue ray while the 2nd is in dvd format. The blue ray editions give the extended versions of the films, deleted scenes, Johns and Tombs journeys to capture Riddick. The dvd also has some extra features which are about the animations which is cool. Overall it is a brilliant collection for any Vin Diesel and sci fi fan. Don't forget to purchase the newest film on blue ray and dvd. It is just called Riddick.

Pitch Black is definitely the best, as a first-time meeting of the somewhat likable convict known as Riddick. The movie has quite a unique day-light making it feel more realistic. It all really start's when the light dies.The movie is very simular in tone to Alien with the survival horror aspect.Dark Fury is good as a bridge story, but as a mini-movie it fail's.The Chronicles of Riddick is by no mean's a contender for best sequel, but it is very thilling and well worth a watch, and has a brilliant ending that ties into the next long awaited sequel Riddick.

Everyone already knows the two films included here, but the animated DVD (not a blu-ray!) will be new, and is 35 minutes of adrenaline rush with smart-alec dialogue. Principally, it details what happens when Riddick and the two other survivors escape from the planet of those "angry, angry birds". The others play almost no part in this tale other than being included in the animation, no doubt for completeness' sake. Probably something you'll watch once, for curiosity, then never watch again (like the animated film Dead Space).But having the two films finally on blu-ray is a treat for any fan of well above average, yet strangely mainstream, sci-fi.

With the release of the latest film simply titled as 'Riddick' (which is a decent film itself) I thought it necessary to catch up on the films that I quite enjoyed. Pitch Black is my preferred film, haven't yet watched the animated sequel, and Chronicles of Riddick isn't as good as the first one, but still a decent affair with lots of good action sequences but the cinematic release was a 12...so no gory sequences here unlike Pitch Black and the newest one. Still, great set of Sci-Fi action flicks which I would recommend to anyone!

Brilliant sci fi action movies. The type you can watch again and again without getting bored of. I wish they would make a collection of all of them rather than just the first three as if there aren't others also made that were in their own ways and times equally as good.

i didnt like the idea of when i ordered the item it did not say any thing about one of the discs being a cartoon version which i was very disappointed with

Yes, it’s violent, but I keep coming back to these films. They’re fun in a gross way.

pedi este pack pensando que me iva a ahorrar unos euros con respecto a la coleccion con las tres peliculas de riddick pero para sorpresa mia y fallo mio tambien no haberme fijado en que trae 3 discos: dos con las primeras peliculas en castellano y un tercero con una pelicula de ANIMACION (mala a mi gusto) y en ingles solamente para rematar. AL pillarmelo por 16 euros no me merecio la pena devolverlo. Ya me conseguire la ultima de Riddick cuando baje algo de precio,
