Useful, if specialized, tool for picking up trash.
It's a fairly specialized tool for picking up trash. It doesn't work with beverage bottles, or very small bits of paper. But it's a great addition to a kit that includes a grabber and a small rake. The PikStik has two spikes, about 1" apart, which pop out when you depress a button half-way down the shaft, and slide the shaft apart. You stab the piece of trash - say a potato chip bag - which remains firmly snagged as you pick it up and place it into your trash bag. Then you press the button again and slide the shaft together. That retracts the spikes, and releases the piece of trash. It sounds more awkward than it is. The whole process takes about 3 seconds once you develop a rhythm. The only drawback is that it requires both hands to use the PikStik in this way, which means your trash bag has to be able to stand on its own.I have a collection of four different tool, for dealing with differing types of trash. The PikStik definitely fills a niche.

THIS THING CAN PICK UP STRAWS
I LIVE ACROSS FROM A PARK AND HAVE HEDGES ALL AROUND MY HOUSE. ALL THE LOOSE TRASH FROM THE PARK INEVITABLY ENDS UP IN MY BUSHES. I GOT TIRED OF GETTING ALL SCRAPED UP FOREGING THROUGH THE BUSHES AND BOUGHT THIS.FIRST OFF IT IS SHARP, DEADLY SHARP/ AND 2ND IT CAN PICK UP STRRAWS. SAVES THE WEAR AND TEAR ON MY BACK FROM CLIMBING UNDER BUSHES.

It’s good
This is a great trash tech I like the idea and everything, but with the two point tip, it’s kind of hard to extract the trash, and I usually find myself having to take it off by hand. But I like it.

It broke within 5 minutes
I had high hopes for this tool. I took it to work yesterday to clean up around the dumpster. I'm thoroughly disappointed, seems like everything I buy from Amazon breaks or is poor quality. It's for picking up trash, I didn't think it would break this fast.

Very strong, durable trash stabber.
This thing has nice sharpened prongs that taper down with barbs to secure the trash. I've already accidentally hit rocks and pavers that were hidden under the dirt below soda cans and the prongs are holding up very well. The only con is that it takes 2 hands to release the trash.. If this were spring-loaded so that it took two hands to deploy the prongs and then a button locked it open, then you could simply press the button for one handed disposal, well that would be a lot more effective since you could then use the other hand to hold a bag open. I use this on my block with a solid trashcan so it's not a deal breaker for me but you may want to consider that if you plan to use a more compact, portable trash bag for plogging.

Makes it easy
I like that the prongs are retractable and there’s a nice cover for the end. Makes cleaning the yard much easier.

East to use, easy to store. I love this item!!
I bought this to pick up magnolia leaves. Thought the trees are lovely, they are very trashy and the leaves are a problem. This thing works great to stab them and put them in a garbage can and tote them to the curb. The points are protected by the sliding cover and it takes so little room to hang in the garage. Worth every penny for my use!

This stick works as describe. It picks up leafs and trash and the hands free release works great. When it arrived I noticed the plastic it was wrapped in was stuck to the rubber handle. When I used it the handle was sticky like the rubber wasn't cured and it smells like burnt rubber tires. which makes my hand sticky and smell like rubber. I had to order a new grip to replace the rubber grip it came with. I paid $8.99 to insure it was delivered in two days as guaranteed on Amazon. It took four days . I got it for my father, for his birthday, who likes to spend his time picking up trash in his neighborhood. Unfortunately I could not present to him on his birthday. Very disappointed in Amazon Prime two day delivery.
