Doesn't the wire connecting the probe to the display interfere with the door seal on the freezer?

No. It's a very thin wire and most freezers are actually warming that strip to ensure that the door doesn't freeze shut.

Not sure where this goes, inside or outside the fridge? If it is outside where do you put the probe?

It's outside for the fridge. It's need to put the probe in the frigde to detect the temperature of the fridge. Then attach the freezer thermometer on the fridge/freezer with the magnet or with the stander.

Does it record the minimum temp of the freezer ?

Yes, not only record the MAX/MIN temp of freezer, but also the temp out of the freezer!

Does the alarm make a sound as well as illuminating the LED indicator?
