Fellowes Shredder Oil for Micro Cut and Cross Cut Paper Shredders, 355ml - Shredder Oil Lubricant with Extended Nozzle

After using my shredder for a few months without any oiling, I noticed it was starting to jam more often. A friend recommended this product, and I'm so glad I took their advice! The first thing I noticed was the design of the bottle. The extended nozzle allows for precise application directly onto the cutting blades, which is a huge plus. It's designed to prevent any mess, and I appreciated that it has a nice, controlled flow - no oily spills on my desk or floor! The oil itself is of great quality - light amber in colour and it has a subtle, clean scent. I used it to oil my shredder following the instructions, and the improvement was literally immediate. With my old shredder I used to buy the proper oil for shredders and poor it down into the cutters, I found it messy and awkward because; I couldn't really tell if I had put enough or too much in. These are great, simply run one through the shredder every time the bin is emptied, and the jobs done until the next time, no mess and no fuss.

My crosscut shredder was starting to labour after only about 15 single sheets (A4) and the thermal cut-out in the shredder would operate after about 25 single sheets making it unusable for the next hour. So started to look for a new shredder and came across this oil, so as the oil was about a tenth of the price of a shredder gave it a go. Noted in the reviews about the spout and not to cut too much off, SO I DID NOT CUT THE SPOUT AT ALL, JUST USED A SEWING NEEDLE TO MAKE THREE SMALL HOLES IN THE "EYE" AT THE END OF THE SPOUT. Applied the oil by running the spout along the slit for the paper and what a difference no more labouring and no more thermal cut-out operating, in the 3 mouths I have been using the oil It has only gone down by about 10mm from the top. People have stated that this oil is only rapeseed oil and you can by it cheaper from Tesco's but as its usage appears so small its not worth the hassle and the fact the rapeseed oil will start to go rancid after a few mouths and stink. So if you do decide to go for this oil, only make very small holes in the spout and you shedder should have a new lease of life and the oil should last about a year. So a good buy

I have a Fellowes shredder for home use. All all these 2 years I have been ignorant that its needs frequent oiling for optimal purpose. I realized the shredder is deteriorating in performance with paper getting stuck each time. It is then i decided to read the manual and was enlightened that how important it is to keep it oiled. I wanted to go for a branded one instead of going for a cheap ones available. Was glad when I saw the Fellowes brand. Pros. 1. As this is sold by Fellowes, you know this is just right for your Fellowes shredder. Do not take a chance with the cheaper options available. 2. It was packed well and safe by Amazon. 3. Its a quite a big bottle and will last for months based on how frequent use. 4. The red cap snaps on the tip and prevents the oil from spills. 5. The performance of my shredder has increased since I used it. It is less noisy and give better performance. I now realized its a must have. Cons. 1. The tip on the bottle is sealed and will need to cut open with a scissor. You will not realize this and may accidentally cut it lower and end up spilling lot more oil when using. Make sure you just pierce the nozzle. Overall - very glad that i purchased this. I now know how important it is to keep the shredder oiled and this one is an excellent quality. I will recommend this.

Bought this with a Fellowes shredder Fellowes Powershred P-35C Cross-Cut Shredder with Safety Lock and it definitely helps the shredder keep working effectively and without straining. I used it as recommended, once every time the bin was filled, which seemed to be when it was needed. This particular bottle appears to be the best value for money deal for this oil, working out at just over £1.60 per 100ml, assuming that you don't have to pay for delivery. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was that the seal under the cap, that has to be removed before the first use, was not very easy to remove cleanly. Even after carefully removing every last bit of foil the cap did not fully seal causing a very tiny leak of oil when the bottle was placed down after use. As the oil is fairly clear I almost didn't notice at first and it is annoying to have to clean the bottle down after every use. Otherwise, it is very useful and good value product, which is essential for the maintenance of any Fellowes shredder.

Just what you need to keep your Fellowes shredder oiled, and well maintained, helping to extend its shelf-life. I shred a batch of documents about every 2 months, so using this just before I start helps loosen up the gears from the periods of non-use. It doesn't need a lot and I'd say there's probably about a good 40-50 uses in a single bottle purchase, definitely worth it.
