Great tool, make sure you have a corded drill
My Bosch Lawnmower has been snatching the grass out of the lawn. A combination of dry weather and what I now know were VERY blunt blades. This works a dream. Took me about 5-10 minutes to sharpen my lawnmower blades, spade, edging tool, and a knife I use in the garden. The edge is quite basic, not something for kitchen knives, but it very quickly put a nice new edge on my mower, taking the edge past a few chips and scrapes. The sharpness was definitely evident and it will cut your skin, but I wouldn't put it as razor sharp. I went over it again with a whetstone to add some fineness, but not sure if it was needed. Either way, when I cut my lawn next I was definitely surprised at the different made. The mower was much quieter and didn't struggle with long clumps. Also the stripes put in have lasted a few days now, something that wasn't happening before. Most importantly, the grass has clearly been cut rather than snatched, and the blade is nice and sharp still. My edging tool also gave good results, with much more of a slicing sound when used, and needing alot less foot pressure to dig in. All in all really happy with this as it sets the angle for you.

Essential tool to keep garden tools sharp
I bought a different tool to sharpen the garden tools. However it did not work! So from common sense a grinding tool with clever angle, easy to use- does good the job and I was able to sharpen all tools within 1.5 hrs. I was especially pleased with grass edger and lawn mover. Both were given a new lease of life. I found lawnmower blade had to be taken off to do it properly. It saved me £150 as we were going to replace the items. Edger is as good as new. Instructions were okay but not great, you can work out the angle for sharpening the tools. Just follow the same angle as old one on the tool. Good value for money and quality product. Recommend to wear a good pair of gloves. Excellent quality.

Be very careful
I have used this to sharpen my mower blades. It's very hard to do that with the blade attached as the blades will spin making it extremely difficult to use this tool Pros : -works if used properly -creates good cutting angles Cons : - The plastic that is supposed to sit on the blade spins and will melt making the tool unusable in minutes - Can only be used with a corded drill, wireless will not work unless very powerful Overall the tool lasted me 5-7 minutes, not good

This is the quickest way to sharpen mower blade
I bought this a few years ago but lost it somewhere, so I had to purchase it again. My blade is curved, but nonetheless it is still the simplest and quickest way to sharpen it. Just remember, to remove it from the mower. I read other reviews and some attempted to do it with the blade being still attached. You are asking for serious injury, use common sense, it doesn't take much time to remove it. Once secured, preferably in the vice or work table, it can be sharpened, and the process takes less than 10 minutes. And unlike someone wrote elsewhere, it works with battery powered drills, just don't press too hard on the blade. This way, you have much better control over the entire process. The final result is very good. I mow my lawn twice a week, so typically I sharpen my blade once or twice a year depending on and its wear. For the price, it is the best sharpener, period.

useful tool that should get good results if used properly
I like this little tool. My aged electric rotary lawnmower is pretty low powered, and to my knowledge has never been properly sharpened, although I've used a file on a couple of occasions with limited success. The multi sharp tool has made quick work of sharpening the blade, and the design helps to sharpen at the best angle for cutting. With a fast rpm drill; but without applying too much pressure the sharpener is quite easy to control. The instructions have some useful tips to help get the best results. I see in the reviews that some people have had problems with either the retaining screw or the plastic guide, but I had no problems, and again would recommend a fast drill rpm, and slow gentle strokes of the sharpener for good results and to avoid damaging the tool. Anyway, my blade is now nice and sharp and is cutting the grass so much more cleanly. Very pleased with this tool.

Sharpening angle wrong way round (for me)
I bought this product to sharpen the blades (in situ) of my Mountfield Princess electric lawn mower. Unfortunately the angled side of the lawn mower blade is on the back (not on the side nearest the ground) meaning that it is not possible with this sharpening tool as the drill would need to be inside the mower! I do not know how many mowers have the angled side of the blade facing the ground in which case this tool might well have worked for me. BTW the blades have never been removed from the mower so this is the way they were factory fitted. The item itself seems reasonably sturdy and would probably work well for a season or two.
