Nice CPU, works well.Driving my Mini-ITX kinda gaming/mainly productivity PC, paired with a GTX1060 and 8GB GDDR3 RAM. It's a good CPU and shouldn't need upgrading for another year or so.If you're going for a beefy gaming rig, I'd opt for an overclock'able CPU, you can find the unlocked version of this CPU for (sometimes) cheaper. The ability to overclock can also add longevity to the usability of the chip.If you're budget conscious, the i5 4460 is a better option, gaming wise you'll notice no difference, same with most basic productivity tasks. And you're saving 30/40GBP which you can use for an SSD

Best value for money!
By far the best value for money out there. If you're not interested in overclocking, this is a beast of a processor. 4690 is about 7% faster, but dispoportionately more expensive.

Fast and Perfect
Great processor gets the job done with my gaming pc (i5 4590 and gtx 960 8gb ram etc)Really fast in general no slow downs. A perfect solid buy. but an i5 4690k would be a better option if found cheaper due to the ability to overclock. .

Great but probably not worth getting anymore for new builds.
The Intel i5 4590 is a great cpu for gaming. I have mine teamed up with a GTX 970 and have played most of my games on high / ultra. But for it's price in 2017 I would recommend saving up a little extra and getting a skylake i5 6600k or above to run games like Battlefield 1 more smoothly.

Still as reliable as the day it arrived. Came well before estimated date which is great as I used it for a gift to my step son.

Really what needs to be said about this processor? It's a good entry i5 that copes with most modern gaming and multi-tasking processes thrown at it. Just don't buy this if you are wanting to OC - you need a K edition to do that.

Fast and efficient delivery, i5 processors worked a treat
I needed to upgrade two systems from G3258, these i5 upgrades worked perfectly. Processors were delivered within 2 days, as described without heat sinks. Perfect.
