Question 1

Is the lavender English lavender?

Accepted Answer

Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. We are thrilled to confirm that our lavender seeds indeed belong to the English variety, scientifically known as Lavandula angustifolia.

Lavandula angustifolia, also known as English lavender, true lavender or common lavender, is one of the most cherished and widely grown lavender species. This variety is native to the Mediterranean region, but it has earned its common name "English" due to its widespread cultivation in English gardens. Over time, it has gained a tremendous reputation worldwide for its profusion of beautiful, deeply aromatic purple flowers and its resilience to different weather conditions.

Lavandula angustifolia is renowned for its rich, sweet fragrance, which is often described as more refined and less camphor-like than other lavender species. Its essential oils are highly sought after and are frequently used in aromatherapy, perfumery, and even in culinary arts. The essential oil derived from this lavender variety is believed to have calming, soothing, and healing properties, making it a popular choice for a wide array of applications, from personal care products to home decor.

Our Lavandula angustifolia seeds offer an excellent germination rate, and the plants they produce are known for their longevity and hardiness. They flourish in well-drained soil and full sun, making them an excellent choice for gardeners, regardless of their level of experience. Their compact size and neat, rounded growth habit make them perfect for edging, borders, and container gardening.

Once the plants have fully matured, you can look forward to a spectacular summer display of richly-scented, vibrant purple flower spikes that attract a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies, contributing to the health of your garden's ecosystem.

We are committed to providing high-quality seeds that are sourced responsibly and sustainably. Our Lavandula angustifolia seeds are no exception, and we are confident that they will bring joy and beauty to your garden.
