PHILIPSSatinelle Advanced Wet and Dry Cordless Epilator - BRE610/00

I really like this epilator, it's smooth shape fits nicely into your hand and it has the great advantage of being cordless. Like all epilators you have to go over the area 2-3 times but it's pretty efficient and I don't find it painful, though I've used an epilator for many years so I'm used to it. Usually I just smooth some hand gel over the epilated skin, which does sting a teeny bit but stops the skin tingling and makes sure it's nice and clean, then put some body lotion on. I didn't find my legs as tingly with this epilator though and it's left a nice smooth finish, and I didn't get the plucked chicken look that I do from my old one. I tried the massage head but I didn't find it improved anything and it seems to stop the tweezers being as effective. I only used it dry as I'm used to that so I've no idea what it's like wet. It is infinitely better than the Braun Silk Epil Se5185 and good value too.

Compared with my old, cheaper one (similar to BRE224/00):Cons:- The head is wider but does not remove all hair straight away. I.e. takes longer and you have to repeat the areas few times and there might be still 1mm hail left.Pros:- It feels more gentle to the skin and leaves it quite smooth. Same effect as if you shave it, but with no hair.- Compact. As it's not wired, if there is any hair growing you can just take the epilator out and deal with it.- The old one was "cutting" the very thin hair, rather than removing it. This one will rather miss the hair, but that helps for feeling the skin softer. The very thin hair is not really visible anyway.Neutral:- There is not much use of the attached light- The adjustment helps for removing the hair better, but the is less gentle to the skin (personally that does not bother me as my one is quite numb :D ). Overall it really depends what the buyer really expect from a product. The only cons I did find is the extra time I have to spare for dealing with unwanted hair, as the wider head does not "speed up" the process. Otherwise is a good deal for that price and lower skin damage.

I bought this as I was attracted to the comment it was less painful than some of the other epilators. Mainly due to the head shape, it seemed as if this may provide hair removal with less pain. However, it is less painful but also less effective. It's a nice enough epilator, but a little disappointing in its performance.

I ordered one of these in December 2016. I thought it was great at first, certainly better than the cheaper Philips epilator I'd been using previously. However, I noticed immediately, that despite me following the charging instructions to the letter & NEVER using the light to conserve power, it only lasted a maximum of 19 minutes from a full charge & averaged nearer 14 minutes. I started timing it as I was so annoyed by the discrepancy between the manufacturers claims of 40 minutes use on a full charge & the reality of what I was getting. After approximately 7 uses, when I'd only had it 2 months the innards started to make a permanent "grinding/grating" noise whilst in use & occasional dreadful sqealing noises! After 2 or 3 more uses it began to stop dead every time I touched it to my skin. NOT the automatic cut out if you apply too much pressure, but even the lightest touch would stop it. It didn't work very effectively hovering 1mm above my skin! The next week it just stopped working. I contacted Amazon who were great & I had a replacement the very next day, this was halfway through March. My replacement epilator is now just under 3 months old, has been used exactly 13 times. 2 weeks ago is started making the EXACT SAME grinding/grating sound. Last week the squealing started. Today, once again, every time I touched it to my skin, no matter how lightly, it just stops dead. Incidentally, for reference, I have been timing this one too & this one managed a maximum of 17 minutes on a full charge & averaged even less than the last one at only 13 minutes per charge! This is without a doubt the WORST epilator I've ever had the misfortune to own. Thankfully I purchased from Amazon & this time I've requested a refund as I don't believe for a second that it is just coincidence that I happened to get 2 separate epilators that both developed the exact same fault, both after only 3 months! Clearly there is a major design flaw with this product & I will be contacting Philips directly to complain. In the meantime, even though Amazon are great & refunding me in full, I would advise you to save your money & find something much more reliable & that is likely to last longer than 3 months! For the 1st time in my "reviewing" life I am wishing for a minus 5 star rating!

When I received this epilator, I was a bit skeptical because of the negative reviews I have read on this site. I have been using it for 9 months on my legs and I am TOTALLY satisfied with it. It is very fast ( I spent less than 40 min for both legs ) and not as painful as I expected. YES the first time it will hurt you, NO it won't remove all your small hairs ( even though I noticed that it removes very very tiny hairs but I guess it depends on the nature of your hair) but this is how epilators work.I have tried to use it on my armpits with little success however, but I won't blame the epilator. I always found very hard to remove hair in this area. Anyway I think it is a great epilator and I find the LED light verrry useful.

I have been using epilators since i was a teen. This is one the not good ones i have used. I purchased it when on sale but even so this is not good value for money.Its curved head makes it harder to apply as not all hair grows aligned to your body curves. The epilator left scars in armpits on first and second use and was not effective compared to my old braun epilator.One good thing about this product is that i do not need to being extension cables to the bathroom to epilate and its charge lasts very long (around an hour)

Es un buen producto, tuve una depiladora que compré de la misma marca en 2009 y fue muy buena inversión me duró más de 10 años. Está parece ser muy buena, el único detalle es que el cabezal tiene un poco menos agarré que la que tenía y tengo que tardar más para que pueda llevarse todo el vello pero es sumamente práctica por el foco y que la puedo utilizar sin cables.

Ich finde das Produkt einmalig. Ich kann es jeden nur weiterempfehlen. Man muss es nur einmal aufladen und schon kannst du den Epilierer kabellos anwenden.

Per la seconda volta che ho comprato lo stesso modello di epilatore Philips. Dopo circa un anno nel primo si è rotta la testina. Spero che questo nuovo funzionerà di più perché lavora molto bene

Mi esposa quedó muy contenta con este depilador. Carga rápido y la pila le dura mucho tiempo. Es fácil de usar y suave con la piel.

Il fait ce qu'il est décrit dans la notice ce qui est déjà un bon point. Il fait moins mal quand elle s'épile sous l'eau, selon les dires de ma fille mais il épile moins qu'un épilateur branché directement sur le courant, donc elle repasse. La batterie dure environ 40 minutes
