I’ve used Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey on and off for training, and it remains one of the most dependable protein powders out there.Mixing is very straightforward — it dissolves easily in water or milk with minimal clumping, especially when shaken properly. The texture is smooth rather than gritty, which makes it easy to drink even after a workout when you just want something quick.The taste is generally very good across flavours I’ve tried, with a milkshake-like consistency when mixed with milk. It doesn’t have that overly artificial or chalky aftertaste that some cheaper powders can suffer from.In terms of performance, it does exactly what you’d expect from a whey protein. It’s useful for post-workout recovery or as a convenient way to increase daily protein intake when food alone isn’t quite enough.It’s also quite light on the stomach compared to some alternatives, which makes it easy to use regularly without feeling overly full or uncomfortable.The main downside is the price — it sits at a higher end compared to some other brands, but the consistency and quality do help justify it.Overall, this is a very reliable whey protein powder that mixes well, tastes good, and delivers consistent results. A strong choice for both beginners and more experienced gym users.

Having had the banana cream, chocolate hazelnut and now this one I can honestly say this is the best protein powder on the market it tastes amazing with milk or water and keeps me at my protein goal for muscle recovery I highly recommend anyone who is unsure about protein powder to try out this brand you will not be disappointed

It mixes so well & tastes great with skimmed milk. Doesn't give you gas like the cheaper ones can.

Nice flavour, but the powder didn't dissolve as easily as some others. Also, the big plastic tub seemed a tad unnecessary.

About three weeks ago I purchased the strawberry flavour of this protein supplement and I have been very pleased with the product so far. This was my first ever protein supplement I have ever bought, and after three weeks I have noticed a large difference in my workouts. I had originally been going to the gym for a year, without supplements, without specified diet plans. I finally came to my senses and decided that workouts alone were not enough, as I was finding difficulty in progressing through weights in the gym.After using this product and just having one scoop a day after each workout, I have noticed that my muscle pain the next day has been greatly reduced, and I feel much more 'restored' in my following workouts. I have also progressed up in weight within this time quite easily, and it was a surprise to me that the heavier weights actually felt fine and not too much of a push at all. I had always been skeptical about whether or not protein supplements really worked, or whether they are just a scam for money. However, I have been pleasantly surprised that they do work nicely.The strawberry flavour tastes great after the first day. The first one I had tasted cringing, but all the shakes I've had since taste good and you get used to it. Drinking it with milk improves taste hugely, but I believe milk should be used for slow digestion as opposed to water for quick entry into the blood stream. The price is quite good for this product too, Maximuscle do their protein shake at around £27+ whereas this product is £23-£27 at the time of writing this review. Although I also believe Maximuscle have more supplements added to their shake, whereas this product is a more 'simplified' supplement. The only cons I would have with the product is the differing prices between different flavours (Choc being ~£23 and Strawberry being ~£25). The tub is also only about half full when you open it, and so you are given the illusion that you're getting a lot of powder, but you actually don't notice until you open it that a lot of the tub is just empty space. So far the product has been fantastic, but I shall have to try some different supplement brands in the future.

I’m 40 years old and struggle sometimes with heartburn from artificial sweeteners, however using this protein powder I don’t have any issues.I mix a scoop of the strawberry flavour with a 10% Greek yoghurt and it tastes just like angel delight, mix a few strawberries in and you’ve got yourself a healthy snack.It’s a great additional supplement for me as I don’t have the appetite to eat loads to increase my protein intake.It’s really easy to mix as well, you don’t get the pockets of power clumps like other powders I’ve used.Definitely the best protein powder I’ve used.5/5

Always good product from these just tried the french vanilla also just as good and I really think it has helped my growth price is good and quality is excellent never upsets my stomach

With Gold moniker expressing its desire to perform, this powder boast of muscle building and recovery properties.There are natural occurring glutamine which is great, and of course those all important BCAAs. Add in delicious flavour that mix well, then you are on to winner. Quality stuff, thank you.

I buy this protein regularly and really enjoy drinking it. Strawberry is definitely my favorite flavor. It tastes great and is perfect for anyone who works out regularly. So far, it’s the best-tasting protein I’ve tried. Highly recommend!

I work out and I’m on a GLP-1 medication, so I pay attention to getting enough protein. Honestly, the taste is what makes this one such a good find for me. The strawberry flavour is lovely — I actually look forward to having my shake! Makes keeping up with my protein a lot more enjoyable. Would happily buy this flavour again.

My favourite protein powder! I put this in smoothies, milkshakes, and as directed in milk. My favourite is to add a scoop to a strawberry-banana smoothie! I’ve just ran out actually, and will be buying another tub! Strawberry protein powder is elite🤩
