Decent quality, easy to fit.
Much better quality than the one I took out. Valve closes positively. Fairly straightforward to fit with the help of YouTube vids. Brass thread better than the previous plastic one. My adjustable spanner size wasn’t quite enough, so would get a slightly bigger one when doing it again, improvised, but would make it easier. Added a bit of PTFE tape round the thread. Job done, saved a bit of money doing it myself.

Excellent toilet inlet valve
My family were getting annoyed with flushing as the old Eco valve would take 25 minutes to fill up! I did some research on Amazon reviews and picked VeeBath toilet inlet valve bottom entry. It was relatively straight-forward to install. Some tips: get a small container and towels to soak up any leakage. Drain the tank completely and turn off the isolation valve to stop water getting in. Take out the old inlet valve by unscrewing at the bottom of the tank. Before inserting the new VeeBath toilet inlet valve, ensure height is 3cm above the outlet pipe. Once installed, it would be almost impossible to adjust the height. Once it's installed, there is no need to over tighten the screws on the inlet valve. Get the towels and container ready and turn the isolation valve back on. Hopefully, there is no leakage. If there is any, it may be necessary to change the washers. Also, it's rather quiet filling up unless you are ultra sensitive to pin-prick decibels. Now, my family are pleased with the quick refill as it would only take 2 minutes compared to 25 minutes for the old Eco valve. I would certainly highly recommend Veebath toilet inlet valve bottom entry.

Works well.
This was the cheapest option I could find but worked well. Although it felt slightly cheap and was fiddly, I did manage to fit myself and it worked successfully. I am not a plumber, nor am I very practical, and although it took a couple of hours, I did manage to get it to work without any leaks. From memory, there weren't any instructions, or certainly they weren't that useful, but was able to resolve with a couple of YouTube videos. One of the positives is that it fills quickly and quietly. Overall positive and I would probably purchase again if I needed another.

Simple DIY job done with a well priced item. Happy with the quality based on price.

Cheap and cheerful...
Did exactly as needed. Easy to fit. Took longer to get my tools out than it took to install. Easily adjustable too.

Decent value.
For the price, this seems a decent product. The washer on the internal surface of the cistern is conical rather than flat, and I found that gave a good seal without the need for excessive tightening. However the mains pressure feed does need to be tight, and the brass coupling provided is in my view superior to plastic, but don't forget to get some ptf tape, which the instructions don't mention - if you don't know how to use it there is plenty of help on Youtube.

Works well
I bought this particular style of valve to replace an old style ball arm type as part of a complete refurbishment of the bodge up from hell (see photo) . The new valve now sits in splendid isolation on the left hand side of the cistern with the water inlet changed to suit and the previous right side entry hole blanked off. Initially I looked at other valves costing twice as much and thought that perhaps this one wouldn’t be so good but went ahead and bought it anyway. Surprisingly it is pretty well made and is supplied with a decent idiot proof cone shaped rubber sealing washer. Not sure if the stem is actually brass or brass finish . Hopefully it is plated copper and not DinkyToy alloy . The instructions are pretty basic and do not explain fully how to adjust the height of the stem . This is done by twisting and unlocking , sliding to size and then twisting back to lock and is probably best done before fitting. Only grip the shaft when twisting as the working parts are less robust and will probably break off. The packaging says it’s designed in the UK and made in China (what isn’t) . Anyway if it’s as good as my I-Pad I won’t worry. The inlet is fitted with a removable filter with regular cleaning advised so I suspect this and others of the type are susceptible to dirt or debris so perhaps worth paying attention to . The metal connection , unlike plastic should stand up to routine maintenance . Suitable for low and high pressure without the need for restriction inserts and on my 3 bar mains fills in seconds and is particularly quiet, unlike its predecessor mimicking a hose pipe filling a bucket and dripping encore. Instructions do not include any reference to dismantling the top end for washer replacement etc , but considering you might have to pay £3-4 for the washer alone what would be the point, better to get another valve .

VeeBath Pro Bottom Entry Float Flush Cistern Valve Fill Valve 1/2" Brass Inlet
Thing of a beauty, a joy forever. Super easy to install, fits into the tiniest of spaces. I left the old flushing mechanism in the tank and just replaced the old cock and ball valve with this. It's quiet and fills up the 8 litre tank in under 30 seconds. (Compared to the 3 minutes before) Just make sure to twist the shaft and set the top of the blue plastic (critical level) to the height of the syphon's overflow. Then twist to lock again and insert the small plastic piece back to secure the position. Before installing the mains water, be sure to remove the piece of plastic from inside the 1/2" brass inlet at the bottom. Took me no time to install, no leaks or noise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE: After a week, it stopped shutting down completely and the excess water is now leaking into the bowl. Buying a Fluidmaster instead.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE UPDATE: After another week, it started working perfectly. No leaks or overflow. So in the end I kept it. I don't know why it had a hiccup but it gets plenty of use and has no problems.
