Great value headphones!
I ordered a pair of these after my old Skullcandy earphones broke (I'd had them for about a year). They seem well-built compared to other Skullcandy earphones, but if you want earphones which are going to last for much more than a couple of years at most, you'd probably be best to look elsewhere. They have a stylish modern look about them and work great with apple devices. I've tried it with my laptop and they work fine, except for the microphone and volume controls, but this didn't annoy me too much. The sound is pristine! The bass is quite deep, which works really well with the majority of modern music, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who intends to listen to softer music (e.g. Classical). The quality of the sound doesn't decrease as you turn up the volume, which was very important for me. However, they still sound good at low volumes too, as they block out background noise really well. Another thing that I found important was how quiet they were to outsiders, while they were being used. If they are kept at a reasonable volume (roughly half volume), they produce very little unwanted sound outside of the earphones, so you don't annoy any people nearby. The case is a great bonus too! It's a small black tin which looks fab and easily fits in your pocket to keep your earphones safe. It can be a little difficult to open at first, but you'll soon get used to this. One thing slightly disappointed me though. They appear on here to be Black/Black colour, whereas the actual earphones were Black/Chrome (mainly black, but with a chrome ring at the top, before the earbuds). To sum-up, they are a great pair of earphones with a sound quality that rivals more expensive competitors, however, there is no guarantee that they will last for a long time because of their occasional poor build quality.

Great sound for price but always breaks
Amazing sound quality as well as comfort! Within a month however one earphone stopped working, and so I sent them back. I then bought a ยฃ50 pair of headphones (in-ear) in hopes they'll have the same sound, if not then better, and that they will last much longer, however when I listened to them the high notes were tinny and the lows were too quiet, so I immediately refunded them and got these skullcandys again but a different colour, praying that these will last longer as they sound awesome! Unfortunately after a month the left earphone just stopped working one day, I was so upset. I was determined to find out why this kept happening, and apparently it is because the cable inside the (weak) plastic casing twists easily, so they snap. I played around with my broken skullcandys until i found where the tiny tear (snapped area) in the cable was by twisting and turning its weak points which are where it plugs in to your iPod/phone/etc (the jack?) and where the wire joins to the actual earphone. The tear was right near where it plugs in, and so I looked up ways to be more careful- one method was to unplug them before twisting them around your ipod when you're finished using them (a habit of mine) so the cable doesn't bend (which leads to the tearing of what's inside the cables.) Ah. So I prepared myself for the 3rd set. As soon as I got them I made sure to unplug them every time, and wrap them up properly so that nothing is damaged, I even put them in their case. 1.5 months of success later hey stabbed me in the back and the left earphone just went quiet on me, not completely mute but the sound was really quiet. I found where the small tear was, and this time it was right up where the cable goes into the ear plug, I just died. I tried to tape the cable into a position where the sound was loud again with desperate hands, but I only made it worse! In the end, the left went completely mute and the right ear sound would flicker quiet then loud. I just threw them in the bin, I couldn't admit defeat and force myself to refund them again. And if you've cared to read this far I now have razer's hammerheads for ยฃ60 and they feel so much more solid and well-built compared to these earphones, plus their sound is rich and I just broke down because victory has never sounded so sweet. Yup, so enjoy them while you can! Again they are fantastic but they just break and break and break. I tried ignoring what people wrote about them online about how they break all the time but I was determined to keep them working for at least a quarter of the year! I'm not saying get hammerheads either, just if you live with music and sleep with music like I do and just constantly use them for your phone, laptop, iPod then these aren't reliable enough to work for you, and I'll bet their price doubled that they will break in a months time.

Excellent Sound
I have owned various pairs of Skullcandy headphones previously (FMJ's/Titans). When I ordered these I was a little worried that I might not enjoy them as much as my Titans, however they exceeded my expectations. The sound quality, in my opinion, is an improvement from the Titans in that the dynamics have been improved - excellent balance between bass, mid-range and the high ends. It would appear "Supreme Sound" delivers well. I mostly listen to rock/metal/industrial/blues/hip hop, but having showed these to two friends with differing tastes they both ordered a pair. The build quality of these seems robust enough, though time will tell. I obtained version 2.0 after having two pairs of the first version succumb to a fault with the left channel. These have not developed any faults so far so hopefully that has been addressed. The 3 buttons remote/mic do function on iOS devices (which I have tested) however I use an Android (HTC) phone where the microphone functions, but only the middle button works to pickup/end calls, and some basic music functions. The quality of the microphone is impressive and does not let much background noise through. Skullcandy do state only compatibility with iOS devices in terms of the remote buttons, so don't expect full functionality with Android, results will vary with different manufacturers etc. I find these headphones less prone to falling out of my ears than past Skullcandy items, but unless you ears match the dimensions of mine this might not help! Overall I love these headphones - I like to have a pair of headphones where I don't feel I need an equaliser to enhance the music, these are perfect for me without costing the earth, and an added bonus that I take calls without having to delve into my pocket for the phone!

pretty good headphones ๐
Nice looking headphones with very nice sounds. Not as bassy as the skullcandy titans but slightly more spacey sound giving them a edge on surround sound. Hard case supplied doesnt screw up so keeps falling apart. Apart from that they are a pretty good pair of headphones compared to more expensive brands which i have been lured away from by skullcandy.

Good Purchase
Designed specifically for iPhone, iPad and & iPod. Arrived promptly, well priced and nicely designed. The sound is both clear with a solid base and very good. The addition of the mic comes with a volume/remote control which is extremely convenient for hands-free. The In-Ear Noise Isolating is a comfortable snug fit and proves to be effective at reducing ambient noises. Which means I don't need to increase to full volume in a 'noisy environment such as the gym.

It's so disappointing because my Skull Candy headphones (without the mic) were fantastic and lasted a really long time
Sure, the sound quality is crisp, clear and relatively loud, but ... This is the second set of Skull Candies to break in less than six months (and I've been VERY careful with the way I store my headset). It's as if the mic control wiring is causing issues since it's generally the first thing to go. Initially, it'll start giving issues by only working sporadically, but this leads to no sound in one of the earpieces eventually. It's so disappointing because my Skull Candy headphones (without the mic) were fantastic and lasted a really long time. I really hope the brand bothers to resolve the issues.

Great, but not worth the money
Good quality earphones, works with every device I've used including the buttons on the mic (iPod Classic, Mac, Laptop, TV, Smartphone), but they only lasted me 3 months. (Right ear stopped working). Bit of a shame. Probably not worth the money if you want them to last for someone that listens to music everyday.

A cynic converted, amazing sound
I bought these when on offer and I have to say my expectations of this brand were that it was relatively high on street cred but likely to be relatively low on sound quality. In fact these are some of the best headphones I have ever used and easily stand comparison to the BOSE AE2 headphones I have recently been using in the house, which themselves kicked the Beats Studio headphones into touch when I tried both in the shop. Really rich bass and superb sound clarity. I am hearing things in songs that I have never heard before, so much so that I am already contemplating buying another pair as a spare. I see from other reviews that these are perhaps not the most long lived, but at this price (I paid just over ยฃ15) it's really hard to complain.

Superb Music in your earphone.!
Skullcandy is always provide the trust of being giving the best sound producing earphones from years. This product is yet another example of the awesomeness of what earphone could be for any of your devices. The best part is the BASS and clarity you get in any circumstances. Another perfect thing is the volume controller by which you can play/pause/rewind/forward and +/- the volume, which makes your life more easy.

Great headphones!
One of the best set of earbuds that I've ever owned. I love them! I got them in Royal Blue. The color is true to the picture. I had the crappy iPod headphones before this, but I think they shorted out because they kept shocking me in my ear. I bought these to replace them and they haven't shocked me once. The microphone works great and the remote is nice. The flat cord could be a little thicker because I think it is starting to pull a tad at the headphone jack. I'm not positive if that is user error a defect in the product. Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with them.

YES!
I've always bought Skullcandy's and have NEVER been disappointed. Although some models are better than others, I have always enjoyed the sharp crisp sound I get out of their brand. However, 50/50's have always been my favorite and this is yet another pair that has not disappointed me! The vibrant colors and intricate design on the buds make it a great eye-popper, eye-opener and they're head-turners! Fantastic design and supreme sound! Definitely recommend!

Skullcandy S2FFFM256 50/50's (and S2FXFM-008)
On my third pair. The first gave up a channel after a year and the company replaced them (yes, the process is a bit tedious, but delivery was made). It is becoming rare that manufacturers stand behind their products like this anymore. The second disappeared from my coat pocket to my chagrin. The third, a new purchase, just arrived in two days from Big A. The hardware has commendable clarity, the right amount of base for tunes and transparency for Audible stories. The microphone works well with Apple products, giving a next-to-you conversation. The cord is flat double strand rubber that does not pick up frictional noise and suggests durability (time will tell). The jury is still out on whether the units stay 'acceptably' in the ear. It seems to be an individual thing and we must roll the dice. Regretably the jury is in on Apple's latest offering. Skullcandy may have gotten it right with this one. December 2015 Update. It seems that earbud headphones have become a collectible in this house. While there are a couple of reserve pairs of the above-reviewed model in drawer the model of preference currently is #S2FXFM-008 named "The Fix" on the box. The Fix is a "Mic 3" item, meaning it has microphone for phone calls, pause and volume control on the remote part of the cord. It is pricier than the other but has, for these ears, the design advantage of staying in ear better than the 50-50 model. This staying power comes from a slant stem to which the buds are attached and, perhaps equally importantly, the Skullcandy bud itself and its particular geometry. Regrettably, Skullcandy does not sell replacement buds (at least under its name) so it's other third parties' products that must be used. The OEM silicone pieces do slide off with active use (pocket action usually) and the larger size of the two sets that come with cannot be found on Amazon. This would be a con. So, as 2015 winds down and the first snow storm of the El Niรฑo winter rages outside thoughts return to warmer weather walks in the woods and forests and Audible readings of Jack Reacher, Tana French and the worlds of Don Delillo.
