Item is OK, exercise routine worked for me.
If you already have weight discs at home, then a wrist roller might be a better choice.--------------------When I first received this flex bar, I tried to complete the 3 sets of 15 repetitions that seem to be the recommended routine for these tools. I managed 2x15 with a 1 minute pause between sets, and couldn't face a third set.Re-reading the NY Times piece that is so often mentioned with flex bars the key line for me was:"Beginners should start with three sets of five repetitions, adding more as the repetitions get easier, Tyler says."well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/25/phys-ed-an-easy-fix-for-tennis-elbow/I've been following a daily routine with this for the past week, a few more reps each day, with a four minute rest between sets. I'm not sure if it's improving or aggravating my tennis elbow. The original study suggests a 7 week course:"Once the patients could perform 3 sets of 15, they progressed to the next color FlexBarยฎ, indicating a higher intensity of eccentric resistance. The treatment continued until the patient had a resolution of symptoms, which occurred at an average of 7 weeks of treatment with 10 clinic visits."[...]------------Frequently asked questions on the Thera-band website.[...]----------The NHS website does not mention this as a certain cure.[...]-------One thing I have found helpful is a wheat bag. You put them in the microwave for 1 minute, and then have a hot pack to soothe your aches and pains. I have The Muscle Doctor one.-----EDIT.I used a full set (yellow, red, green, blue) of Theraband flex bars to treat my case of tennis elbow. It worked.

Excellent
I bought this product because I have a long term elbow/forearm strain injury that I could not seem to heal from (Iโve had it for about five years). After using the flexbar for about three months, I have started to feel noticeable improvement. There are plenty of video tutorials online that show you how to get the best from it, and once you work out which exercises to use you will soon feel the benefit.

This cured my golfer's elbow
Had golfer's elbow for many months. Tried massage and eccentric dumbbell exercises but no signs of improvement. Gave this a shot and after 5 weeks, I'm back to normal with no pain. I started with the blue which provides max resistance but I should probably have tried green to begin with. You should begin to notice a slight improvement after a week if you follow the exercises. I did 3 sets of 12 each day. Dumbbells don't provide the same kind of resistance that this does which is why I think it works so well. With the blue flexbar, I had to slightly modify the technique to prevent myself from developing tennis elbow in the good arm. Just pin that good elbow to your side when doing the reverse tyler twist.

Recommended by my personal trainer to improve wrist & hand strength & flexibility, help reduce pain.
My personal trainer (the best I've had & very knowledgeable) recommended that I get a Theraband Flexbar to improve my hand and wrist strength, which I've noticed is not as strong as it used to be. I'm 61, fit and healthy, with strong legs but my upper body strength needs improvement. I've noticed that I'm finding it harder to get twist caps off bottles, plus I've got 'Golfers Elbow', even though I don't play golf! The thinnest Flexbar is yellow, the next one up in the range is red - ideal for starting off if you're not too weak, particularly females. It's made of solid flexible rubber, 30cm long x 3.5cm across. It comes sealed in thick cellophane wrapping, with a User Guide wrapped around the Flexbar. There are 2 exercises with b&w photos of a person using the Flexbar, and very brief instructions under each photo. The instructions didn't make sense to me, not descriptive enough, which was disappointing. I recommend that you look up online videos on how to use it. My PT, Nick of No Regrets Training, has online videos showing how to do a variety of exercises with the Flexbar. He also has an older Theraband Flexbar Instruction Manual, published in 2005, with 26 exercises (see my photos). Maybe Theraband should consider updating the Manual and including it with their Flexbars ...
