Good sound. Very durable for my playing style. Very easy to set up, doesn't take a lot to tune it onto the snare (even if snare wires are broken) Very controlled and deep sound, recommended for heavy breakdowns such as heavy dirty soul by TWP The ambassador coating fades away easily, but that's not an issue since it's so durable and difficult to actually damage.

Can't go wrong with this drum head. I'm on my second one in 3 to 4 years. Its built to last. Its hard wearing, focussed in sound with some over rings that are easily tackled using moon gel or equivalent. I used it in a pop punk setting initially, but it is also doing the job in the blues genre too, meaning i can use one snare for both settings. I also believe Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers uses this snare drum head because he is a heavy hitter and it provides the right sound for that setting.

Easy to fit and tune. The central coated control sound area certainly gives a pleasing sound. I'm using it on a Pearl steel snare. It helps reduce the "ringing". Not so sure about durability. After one rehearsal session of 3 hours, the centre was certainly showing signs of wear and I'm not a heavy hitter. But overall, pleased with it. ** One year on and I'm still using and loving it. It's had a few gigs and rehearsals as well as practice sessions and has kept it tuning well. And its wearing well too**

Very good but a little too quiet so I used two heads with remo on top brilliant works well on my snare

replaced fiberskyn head which kept delaminating through use, perfect tight sound with just the right amount of 'ring' but still controllable.

The Remo 14" Controlled Sound Coated Snare head gives me exactly the classic rock sound I'm looking for. I can usually get four or five months out of the head which gets some hammer as I'm out gigging most weekends. I'm a fairly heavy hitter however the head always retains its integrity and it's just the coating that wears away. Speaking to a REMO technician recently it came as no surprise to learn that the Remo 14" Controlled Sound Coated head is their best seller.

I’ve used Remo almost exclusively for 30+ years. I’m familiar with the sounds you can get out of each product.. these are probably my favourite snare drum heads. I don’t change heads too often as I like them played in a bit so they must be pretty durable. 😊 They look like a drum head with a dot in the middle the price seems a little steep but in line with others.

This snare drum head has the exact sound I wanted for a long time, especially since it doesn't ring at all whatsoever.

good sound and quality. With this coated controlled batter the sound is not too open, good for my small studio room.

Unlike the usual version with the dot under the head, this version has the dot on top, and then the whole thing is coated. It has a slightly beefier tone with a bit more low-mid frequency response. Also, the version with the dot underneath can occasionally have the dot become detached.
