Powerful little mixer
This is a great little hand mixer and absolute value for money (£17.99 at the time of the purchase). The mixer came well packaged and with 3 different attachments; standard beaters, a balloon whisk & dough hooks. The beaters are a little bit longer than the other ones I've had which comes handy when making large portions. One thing worth noting is that the motor is very strong for such a small thing and even the slowest speed setting is quite fast, so you need to be careful to not splash flour all over your kitchen. Might not be the best appliance for mixing any delicate batters.I use mine weekly and I am very happy with it. I've made big batches of bread dough, and paired with the dough hooks the mixer preforms amazingly - the motor doesn't seem to struggle at all with the heavy dough! I am well pleased, makes kneading SO much easier!

Amazing product and price point.
As with all Andrew James products (I've had several, the salt and pepper grinders are awesome). This is great, I gave it a swift try to do some cloud bread as soon as I got it. It's easy to handle, the blades fitted easily and securely and ejected easily to. I went through all 5 settings + tried the turbo with no problems. Getting a balloon whisk was also a nice bonus. I also know for a fact that the customer service you receive is excellent (one of my grinders stopped working, literally, the day before the years warranty was up. I contacted them and they just sent a brand new pair out and said " just keep the others", so now I have a spare brand new one, and one for spare parts. It only stopped working because the "spindle" had rounded off. Probably because I used it many times daily). The prices for what you get are amazingly low, but don't let this put you off about the quality. Andrew James products are the first I look for when I need kitchen appliances etc.

Brilliant item
Easy to use! The hooks and whisks are robust and easy to insert and release! Speeds are easy to select and start at slow to increasingly faster with each stage and therefore cater for all uses! Light and stylish looking! Highly recommended!

Great value & very powerful beaters!
I’ve already used these for making cakes, breads and brownies, and have found the different attachments handy and the electric mixers make quick work of any task. The only drawbacks have been that the slowest setting is too fast for any light mixing and sends ingredients flying, so you have to stir everything in a bit before unleashing the beast; the speed control slider is a little tricky to push slowly up the speeds; and the machine doesn’t have a stable base, so it can fall over when left resting on its side. But I love how quickly these mix and how effective they are at the same time. If they had a slightly slower setting they’d be 5* for me.

Excellent mixer
Very pleased with this mixer as I have been looking for one like this for ages with longer than average attachments. Makes it much easier to use with a large mixing bowl when making large quantities. It is very powerful, even on the lowest setting, but this just means that it is effective. Seems sturdy, but not too heavy for, say, a long beat of something like egg whites. Stands nicely on its end between mixes without toppling, which is a bonus too!

Fantastic mixer
I got this for my wife after her old "desktop" mixer broke and we couldn't afford another one... totally worth the money, and since early August has been used to make many cakes, biscuits and the like. I'm not sure what other reviewers have meant by the beaters being too long, or the settings being too slow, or too fast; as a totally novice, i've now used them twice, once for a cake and once for biscuits and in both cases they did exactly what i'd expected/required. Most importantly my wife loves it, and her and our 3 y.o. daughter have been back to full speed making baked good so mission accomplished. I'd buy this again and wouldn't hesitate to buy other Andrew James products, or hesitate the brands to others.

Overkill to the point of being useless
I bought this model to replace my existing Andrew James hand mixer which recently died. I had my previous ones for many years and was extremely happy with it which is why I chose to replace it with this one. On first use, however, I am extremely disappointed with it. It looks great and is easy to use, but the lowest mixing speed is ridiculously fast! There is no way to mix anything gently so frostings would be a nightmare and whipping cream an utter disaster if you wanted to do anything other than produce butter in 0 - 60 seconds flat. So if you fancy mixing your cake batter with a turbine engine, this is the one for you! I am in the process of returning mine.

ballistic speed settings
I've only used the lowest setting on this and I'd say this is a good mixer if you are trying to see how high and far ingredients can fly, or if you are looking to do some casual drilling. Absolutely ballistic settings, I haven't really been able to use it without making a massive mess. This would probably be a good mixer if it had one lower setting. Get a massive bowl with high sides and expect to get most of it on the walls anyway
