Is Perlite and vermiculite the same

Vermiculite is an aluminum-iron-magnesium silicate that resembles mica in appearance. For use in horticultural applications, vermiculite is heated to expand the particles. This expansion enables it to absorb moisture when used as a potting medium. Vermiculite can soak up 3 to 4 times its volume in water. It also attracts plant nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus. Perlite is an amorphous volcanic rock that is rich in silicon. When mined for use as a potting medium, perlite is crushed and also heated to expand the particles. The microscopic bubbles in perlite granules absorb and hold water as well, but they also hold air. Basically, I use Vermiculite when seed sowing and Perlite if I am planting in small containers

Can I use perlite and vermiculite mix together

There's really no need to mix perlite and vermiculite because each of them is best suited for different situations. Use perlite to root cuttings or grow cacti, succulents, epiphytes, and other plants that benefit from quickly draining soil with plenty of aeration.

I'd just like to ask if one bag of 10L perlight  costs £6.00 . why does 2 bags of the same product cost £17.92 ,  6+6 = 12 ?

how much perlite to potting soil?

I use about 1/4 mix but you can try 50/50.There's no right or wrong but remember that the perlite has no nutrients as it is made of volcanic rock granules. The white tiny rocks absorb moisture and retain the moisture around  the plant roots, the granules aerate your potting soil too by helping with drainage so your potting soil is not clogged.
