Absolutely love this tape measure, fantastic when it comes to measuring pretty much anything but as for it’s intended use, cutting drywall or measuring between beams this come is very handy and performs extremely well. This is my 2nd purchase of the 3m version as offers a powerful tool in a small package. UK sizing of 2.4m means this handy 3m version is fantastic and can measure most lengths without the need for its 6m big brother. It also has a nice chunky tape stop release on the front, where most measures get you to lock to hold the measure, this auto locks, very well I might add and then press to release the tape instead. Most measures loose there locking ability through time and use but this works just as well day one after 7 years of use. The only reason I’m buying a new one is that my partner liked it that much it’s now in her tool collection instead. Would highly recommend for professionals and DIYers alike. I have several different tape measure for different uses but this is my most frequently picked tool, especially for accurate and intricate measuring. For the price you won’t get much better value. Pocket friendly, only thing I could fault is no belt clip. The tool has a nice black finish, has both internal and external measures to accommodate the tail along with the ability to measure angles which is fantastic for measuring and plotting curves on timber and flooring. It also has an inch measure on the back as the measure can be wrapped around cylindrical objects with ease. This is a one of my most reliable tools and I don’t go anywhere without this or it’s smaller 2m brother. You can’t go wrong with this tool.

Excellent tape even though it takes a little getting used to. The inside measurements feature is worth the price on it's own , it gives a really accurate measurement with no hassle.

Genuinely the first small tape measure for precise work that I’ve loved using. Very little give and highly accurate. Top tip, and the only reason I’ve given it 4 stars (not 5); the end hook is too shiny/smooth, so slips off when measuring longer lengths. Gently roughen the inside of this with a bit of 120 grit abrasive, and this solves the issue. If it gripped well out of the box, I’d have given it 5 stars.

At last, a tape measure which does everything well, and is significantly improved over the previous Talmeter which until now had been my favourite tape for precise measurements. The tape is clearly printed in (principally) black on white, and housed in a well-designed case which is a pleasure to hold. Steel points allow direct transfer of external and internal measurements; internal measurements are made using the sprung extension at the rear, and by reading the red figures. Diametric measurements can be read by wrapping the tape around a cylinder and reading the appropriate scale. There have been a number of welcome improvements over the previous model. The extension is now housed under a tambour-style shutter, which makes it easier to release and store. The red internal markings have been enclosed in parentheses to avoid using them by mistake (previously a potential source of error, as I know to my cost). The rarely-used diameter scale has been moved to the reverse of the tape, making it possible to extend the normal markings across the face, thus making it easy to take measurements from the right as well as the left. Finally, the case has been made neater. My only slight reservation is that the black case will not be so easy to spot if put down on a crowded bench. If ever I lose mine I shall be in a hurry to replace it immediately.

Ridiculously accurate - the tape slides out when the button is pressed and once released is locked into place. Small metal pieces on the mouth of the measure allows for pinpoint accuracy on the tape and there is zero movement in the metal piece at the start of the tape. The diameter scale on the reverse of the tape is perfect for sizing pipes, dowels, etc. and measuring internal dimensions is so simple. Why did it take me so long to buy one?!

Love these little tapes, they’re absolutely brilliant. Makes measuring and marking a pleasure. Internal measuring and marking with the tape itself makes everything go especially smoothly. I’m a pretty harsh reviewer but I truly cannot fault these. I would like to be able to get an all metal version but it really isn’t necessary. I’ve dropped these many times, had one crushed by a heavy toolbox and never had any noticeable damage to the plastic housing. I also recommend these more strongly for anyone with poor eyesight. My eyes are horrendous even with glasses. The white tape (rather than the more standard yellow) contrasts more with the ink so makes it more easily readable.

Der Hultafors Talmeter ist kein gewöhnliches Maßband, sondern ein durchdachtes "Spezialwerkzeug", das klar aus der Praxis heraus entwickelt wurde. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist insgesamt sehr hoch. Mechanik und Bandführung wirken präzise und langlebig, nichts klappert oder fühlt sich billig an. Das Kunststoffgehäuse ist funktional, aber haptisch eher durchschnittlich – hier hätte man mit einem hochwertigeren Material oder einer griffigeren (gummiert?) Oberfläche noch mehr Wertigkeit erzeugen können. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der Arretierungsknopf aus Metall. Diese Entscheidung ist nicht nur langlebiger, sondern vermittelt auch ein deutlich besseres Feedback im Gebrauch. Die Arretierung selbst ist außergewöhnlich stark – einmal fixiert, bewegt sich wirklich nichts mehr. Das ist kein Detail, sondern ein echter Qualitätsfaktor im Arbeitsalltag. Das zentrale Feature ist das ausklappbare Innenmaß. Genau dafür kauft man dieses Werkzeug. Es ersetzt in vielen Situationen zusätzliche Messhilfen und beschleunigt Arbeitsabläufe spürbar. Ebenso praktisch ist die Möglichkeit, Durchmesser zu messen – keine Präzisionslösung für jede Anwendung, aber im Alltag extrem nützlich, wenn gerade nichts anderes zur Hand ist. Die Ablesbarkeit ist sehr gut gelöst: metrische Skala, schwarzer Druck auf weißem Hintergrund, klarer Kontrast. Die roten Markierungen für Innenmessungen sind sinnvoll integriert und erhöhen die intuitive Nutzung deutlich. Der integrierte Markierdorn ist ein funktional starkes Feature. Beim Ausziehen des Maßbandes wirkt er anfangs leicht störend, in der Praxis gewöhnt man sich jedoch schnell daran. Gleichzeitig ist er so ausgeführt, dass keine reale Verletzungsgefahr besteht. In der Anwendung überzeugt er vor allem beim Anreißen auf Rohmaterial. In Kombination mit der 10-cm-Öffnung (kleines Loch) entsteht eine einfache, aber effektive Lösung für schnelles Markieren ohne zusätzliches Werkzeug. Die Genauigkeitsklasse 2 ist im realen Einsatz völlig ausreichend. Wer ernsthaft arbeitet, verwendet ohnehin durchgehend dasselbe Maßband innerhalb eines Projekts. In diesem Kontext ist die absolute Klassengenauigkeit weniger entscheidend als Konsistenz – und die ist hier gegeben. In Summe ist der Talmeter ein Werkzeug mit klarer Designlogik: praxisorientiert, funktional durchdacht und mit echten Mehrwerten gegenüber klassischen Maßbändern. Kleine Abstriche beim Gehäuse stehen einer insgesamt sehr überzeugenden Umsetzung gegenüber. Vielleicht ist er etwas teurer, aber auch irgendwie okay - es wurde ja viel Innovation hineingesteckt. Ist es ein must have? Wer gern mal seinen Bleistift sucht, Durchmesser messen muss, die sich mit einer Schiebelehre nicht mehr ausgehen oder auch im Trockenbau arbeitet braucht das Teil. Ich verwende nur noch den Talmeter im Holzbau und darum gebe ich eine klare Kaufempfehlung!

Il es compliqué de faire un bon mètre à ruban. La lecture de la mesure est rarement précise. La tenue du la mesure par blocage n'est souvent qu'un gadget, les dimensions intérieures ne sont qu'approximatives. Ce mètre Hultafors réalise l'exploit de régler ces trois difficultés en remettant à plat le design de cet outil courant et pourtant si mal étudié en général. De plus, il permet de s'affranchir le plus souvent du report au crayon de la mesure grâce à deux astucieuses petites griffes en acier qui permettent de marquer la mesure. En menuiserie, il est habituel de dire que si on veut gagner en précision, on ne mesure pas, chaque mesure apportant sa dose d' imprécision. Seul bémol, il est cher et pas très sexy d'aspect. Un jaune fluo aurait permis de le localiser plus facilement dur l'établi.
