Wasn't expecting anything of quality from this otoscope but surprisingly good. Had an ear inspection at Specsavers the week before and can say picture quality is as good as if not better than the equipment they use to view the ear canal. Device is safe to use as long as you use the guards. I don't have the same view for the small spatulars for collecting wax as they obstruct the view and could lead to possible damage to your ear. Still 5 stars for quality and for use as otoscope.

Context:I suffered regularly from ear infections as a kid, and had grommets repeatedly until about 12yo. As an adult I've continued to suffer but nowhere near as badly, and luckily, never from swimming. Any kind of ENT virus tends to hit me badly.I had a bad bout of Covid in Feb this year, then in April I perforated both ear drums during a fast ascent from a dive. They healed nicely, confirmed by DDRC at the beginning of August, although they were a little red. A few weeks ago I returned to swimming regularly and within a week, my ear had started to really hurt through the night. GP confirmed an ear infection and reported that my drum had reperforated. 2 weeks of antibiotics haven't shifted it yet and I'm still in a lot of pain. I don't want to keep going back to the GP if there's no sign of infection and it's just the perforation causing pain. I decided to look for an Otoscope so I could keep an eye on it myself in the meantime.Cons first of all, because hopefully they'll be more helpful!1. The app is awkward. Because the WiFi connection isn't Internet, my phone hates connecting to it, and I have to manually confirm that it should do so. Every time. This means it's never plug and play, each use takes about 5-10 minutes of fiddling to get it to connect. Weirdly it keeps adding new scopes to the list too, so I now have about 5 of the same in the app, which it expects me to connect to.2. Despite having all permissions granted, every time I take a photo it asks if I'll allow them, I say yes, it takes me to settings, I can't change anything as it's all already confirmed, and then backs out, so nothing saves in the app gallery. I have found though, that it does save them in my phone gallery, so now when it comes up asking, I just back out of the pop up.ProsThis is much, much better than I was expecting. A handy guide of what ears look like would be great, but I found a great website online med dot uther dot edu and it gives loads of photos of different issues. Obviously, if you've got problems go to a GP but it's helpful as a quick quite to be able to see what's going on with your ear.The photos are really clear, I think the only thing I'd like is to have brightness adjustment so you can increase the light.Fascinating and somewhat gross!The photos are my husband's perfect ears 🙄 and mine, which show the scarring and infection.

I bought this to replace an existing endoscope I have.....yet it is really bad. Light, not bright enough. Focus, it doesn't. Quality of image, forget it.

The media could not be loaded. I used olive oil drops to soften the wax for two days, then used the scoop attachment to remove earwax, a little at a time. I then applied olive oil for two days again, then used camera again and so on.You can see from the video I have supplied how earwax removal can be done with supplied accessory. This video is the wax that was against the eardrum, notice how I slice a bit off first and then remove.But, you do need to be careful. The ear canal is very sensitive to anything touching it. Also, you absolutely cannot touch or go too close to the eardrum, which is only 2 cm from the ear canal entrance.This requires a steady hand. I got better with practice.It's best to not be overly ambitious and to just simply scrape off a small amount of wax at a time. Hard wax will not move but softened wax will. As I pointed out, I used olive oil to soften wax for two days beforehand. Olive oil drenched wax appears shiny but hardened wax appears matted and dark.Worth pointing out that microsuction and syringing of ears to remove earwax carry risks.However, this method, a manual removal tool, certainly doesn't risk your ears being exposed to the loud noise of microsuction or the force of water battering against your eardrum with syringing.Be clear; I am not a doctor of any kind, just someone who decided to sort my earwax problem myself as I didn’t like the risks involved with microsuction or water syringing.

After suffering hearing problems, and whilst waiting for my GP appointment to come around, I decided to buy one of these to see if there was any obvious cause for my issue. There was.By the time I had my appointment, and subsequent ENT appt came around, my ear had cleared up but my hearing issues weren't resolved.I took my phone with me to the ENT appt and showed the consultant the photos taken from the otoscope. The consultant was amazed that I was able to purchase such a device at home and that the photos showed exactly what the issue was. Without it, they, and I, would still be clueless.It is such an impressive device that the ENT consultant actually asked me to show him the link on Amazon for it so that he could purchase one himself!

After reading the instructions I was able to down load the app, and it worked perfectly, however since that one occasion it has not worked. So overall not too impressed sorry

La cosa che mi ha stupito di questo otoscopio è che nonostante non sia professionale ha una qualità dell'immagine elevata a differenza di un altro che avevo acquistato in precedenza questo si è rilevato veramente molto utile, l'applicazione è fatta molto bene ed è scaricabile dal PlayStore (nel mio caso avendo Android). Sicuramente lo consiglio, mi son trovato molto bene. Da aggiungere che è fornito con tante palette utili per pulire le orecchie.Come in foto. Super!

Also ich finde es schwierig dem Gerät eine Bewertung zu geben.Einerseits ist das wirklich ein tolles Gerät.Es wirkt hervorragend verarbeitet, schönes hochwertiges Plastik und die Kamera auf einem Metallrohr, keine Grate, alles sehr bündig, liegt sehr gut in der Hand. Das Gerät kam voll geladen und war sofort einsatzbereit. Leider kommt es zum Laden nur mit einem Micro USB Eingang und Micro USB Kabel. USB-C wäre zeitgemäßer, aber bei einem Gerät, das man wahrscheinlich eher selten verwendet und noch seltener laden muss, ist das jetzt kein Problem.Es kommt mit einer klaren und kurzen Anleitung auf Deutsch, Englisch, das Installieren der App und die Verbindung mit dem Smartphone funktioniert (bei mir unter Android) schnell und völlig unkompliziert per QR Code Karte und klaren Anweisungen.Die App arbeitet sauber, das Bild ist wirklich gut. Man kann Videos aufzeichnen, wenn man mag.Die Löffelaufsätze sind vielfältig und es gibt zwei Sets, sodass man ohne Ekelgefühle für zwei Personen unterschiedliche Sets verwenden kann. Es kommen auch vier Alkohol Reinigungstücher mit.Die Aufsätze sitzen gut fest und definiert und es besteht keine Gefahr, dass die abrutschen oder im Ohr stecken bleiben, wie man das hier bei anderen Geräten teils als Kritik lesen kann.Zusätzlich kommt noch ein kleines Lederetui mit, in dem ein qualitativ wertig wirkender Set aus zwei Arten Ohrspiralen, Ohrlöffel usw. mit langem Stiel drin ist. Das sind keine Aufsätze, sondern eigenständige Werkzeuge, die man quasi blind verwenden muss. Das mag für Profis gut sein, der Laie wird sich damit aber wahrscheinlich eher verletzen.. also gut gemeint, aber nicht wirklich sinnvoll, eher so ein Bonus, vielleicht fürs Tierohr oder so.Sehr gut finde ich die kegeligen Ohrschutzaufsätze/kegel für die Kamera (mitgeliefert werden vier).. damit kann man dann wirklich mit der Kamera ganz tief ins Ohr gehen, ohne sich zu verletzen. Das ist toll, denn die Kamera fokussiert irrer weise bis zwei drei Millimeter vor der Linse und die Kegel gehen vor bis zur Linse. Man kann sich also seinen Ohrschmalz echt im Detail von gaaaanz nah ansehen.Die Leds sind auch ausreichend hell um alles schön auszuleuchten ohne zu überstrahlen. Übermäßig warm werden die auch bei längerem rummachen nicht.. etwas warm, aber nie unangenehm.Soweit so gut, soweit ist das ein wirkliches Qualitätsprodukt wie man es bei so Gimmick Chinaware nicht erwarten würde. Jetzt aber zum ABER.Gekauft habe ich mir das Gerät nicht aus reinem Forscherdrang, sondern um dem Problem verstopfter Ohren in Eigenregie abhelfen zu können. Ich habe so ca. zweimal im Jahr das Problem, dass ein Ohr auf einmal zugeht, gerne nach dem Baden oder Schwimmen, weil da jede Menge Ohrschmalz drin sitzt und mit der Feuchtigkeit aufquillt und dann ist Ende Gelände. Das ist unglaublich doof und schwer auszuhalten und dann muss man hoffen, dass man nicht im Urlaub ist, es nicht Wochenende ist und ein Ohrenarzt offen hat und dann muss man da, weil man ja keinen Termin hat, zwei Stunden warten.. letztlich ist ein halber Arbeitstag im Eimer.. usw...Mit den Löffelaufsätzen konnte ich einiges an Schmutz aus dem äußeren Bereich der Gehörgänge rausholen.. allerdings erfordert das Handling einiges an Übung.. das ist nicht so leicht wie man sich das vorstellt.. die Bewegungen werden immer gespiegelt und es erfordert Geduld und Beharrlichkeit bis man einigermaßen zielsicher arbeiten kann. Vielleicht sind andere Leute auch einfach geschickter.Was aber leider gar nicht geht oder zumindest mir nicht gelungen ist, ist Schmutz aus dem inneren Teil des Ohrs kurz vor dem Trommelfell rauszuholen und leider liegen genau da oft die großen Brocken, die das Ohr verstopfen. Das liegt daran, dass die Kamera mit dem Löffelstiel daran nicht um die Ecke schauen kann... wenn man nur mit dem Schutzkegel am Stiel reingeht, kommt man bis kurz vors Trommelfell und sieht was da liegt, aber mit den Löffeln dran kommt man einfach nicht da hin, da die Löffel eine gewisse Länge haben und einen fixierten Abstand zur Kamera.. und wenn da nun ein Knick ist, dann sieht man eben mit dem Löffelaufsatz nicht bis zum Trommelfell bzw. kommt damit gar nichts ums Eck bzw. die Biegung.Mag sein, dass andere Menschen eine kompatiblere Innenohrgeometrie haben, aber ich kann bei mir die Ohren eben nicht da ausräumen, wo es eigentlich Not täte, und das prinzipbedingt und nicht nur aus Ungeschick.. damit verfehlt das Set für mich seinen eigentlichen Zweck.Ich behalte ihn trotzdem mal, da man immerhin sehen kann was los ist, vielleicht auch schon bevor ein Problem zu groß wird, also zur Prophylaxe und so zur Neugierbefriedigung.. man kann damit ja in alle möglichen Kleinräume mal reinschauen...Aber nach erfolglosen Versuchen mit Ohrduschen und Otowax, mit Ohrstaubsauger usw. nun ein weiterer Fehlschlag. So gesehen könnte ich dem Gerät hier auch nur einen Stern geben, aber das wäre unfair, denn eigentlich ist es wirklich eine Qualitätsmaschine... und ein bisschen sauber machen kann man schon damit.. und faszinierend ist es auch.

Je cherchais un otoscope facile d’utilisation et avec une image nette et je suis franchement pas déçu !!!! Il est impeccable on voit très bien !!!!
