Fantastic detail pencil.
This is a repeat purchase since I love it. It is a superb design and works extremely well. The mechanism rotates the thin lead to keep it sharp. Amazing design.

Excellent value and quality mechanical pencil.
Excellent mechanical pencil. Good value, nice build quality, and pleasant to use. Leads don’t break too easily, and writing is smooth. The grip is more comfortable than I expected considering it is not a smooth conical shape. Feels premium even though only part of the pencil is metal, and it’s nice and light to write with.

Simply the best pencil I've ever used, great for maths
I just had to give this 5 starts as I need a pencil for studying A level maths and this is the best pencil I've ever owned. Previously I've tried disposal mechanical pencils and a Staedtler Mars micro 5.0mm The auto rotate (stay sharpe feature) that many say doesn't work, appears not to do anything I definitely don't notice it doing anything and my lead would still blunten and I myself quested if it really worked or just had some kind of placebo effect. However upon returning to my Staedtler for a day (couldn't find my Kuru Toga) I soon noticed the Staedtler blunted much quicker and easier. I therefore conclude the the rotation stay sharpe feature does work pretty well and although not perfect I really couldn't do without this feature anymore, I actually love this feature. The quality of this pencil is very good though unfortunately only the bottom half is aluminium the rest is aluminium look plastic although this maybe slightly cheapens the look and feel it is still a very solid and attractive pencil. I actually felt quite posh using this in maths class, default the best pencil and smatest looking pencil in my class. I really don't know how easy it would be to source replacement rubbers for the top but I don't really care as I like to use my large quality rubber which I already own. Personally I prefer the Staedtler leads as they Seth to write smoother so I buy replace 5.0mm lead from them. Any 5mm lead should fit fine. If like to point out that the Staedtler I've been comparing to is an excellent quality pencil and perhaps better value (depending on current prices) but I simply prefer the Kuru Toga. I'm actually after a 3mm pencil now and won't buy any other brand, once you've tried a Kuru Toga there's no going back. On that note I'll end this review with a few pictures, hope you have found it useful

Perfect for sketching – the self-sharpening feature is brilliant
I really like this mechanical pencil and have been using it a lot for sketching and writing. My favourite feature is the Kuru Toga mechanism because the lead rotates as you write or sketch, which helps keep the tip sharp and gives me a more consistent point. As an architecture student, I find this especially useful when sketching because I don't have to keep stopping to sharpen the pencil. I can just keep sketching and the tip stays sharp, which makes the whole process much more convenient. The pencil is also lightweight and comfortable to hold, so it doesn't feel tiring even when I'm using it for longer sketching sessions. The only thing I'm not particularly impressed with is the small eraser at the top. I haven't really used it since buying the pencil because I don't find it very useful. However, considering the price, I don't think this is a major issue. Overall, I really like this pencil. The self-sharpening mechanism alone makes it worth having, especially for sketching, technical drawing and everyday writing. I'd definitely recommend it.

Best writing implement out there.
I work in engineering, and Engineers love their pencils. Pens are all very well, but tend not to work too well when you're scribbling on a scrap of paper against a wall. I want a good pencil. This one is great! The Kuru Toga 'engine' rotates the nib each time you lift if off the paper so you always have a sharp point, it's comfortable to hold and the supplied lead is very smooth and nice to write with. It's also pretty robust - I usually use a 0.7mm lead pencil simply because I break the leads so often, but the 0.5 on this one is fine. I've yet to break the tip off in normal use. It's lovely to write or sketch with, and balances in the hand well, and feels well made and sturdy. The only slight annoyance is the cap on the eraser tends to fall off, but if you crush it ever-so-slightly it will then stay in place. Brilliant pen, with a fun bit of engineering thrown in. I like it so much, I use this one for writing, and have ordered several more in different barrel colours to put colour leads into. No more pens for me.

Kuru toga mechanical pencil
This mechanical pencil is great, really nice to write and draw in. It feels very high quality and weighs not enough to feel heavy but enough to feel premium. The grip is very comfy and very grippy! I didn't realise for a while, but there is a small, fine rubber underneath the end cap and it is very good indeed, however running out quickly. The clip seems to work well and also feels nice. The turning function; this seems to Work but when examining the pencil lead it is actually worn on one side only. If it is turning I don't know. However it does have a fine writing tip and is consistent with the thin lines. It does come with a spare lead which is already In the cartridge. Overall a very nice pencil indeed. Good buy well worth it.

A bit expensive and I am happy I bought it .
It is good quality , better than average , hence the price . I think it is worth it . I write notes a lot using pencil . Also I knew I wanted a special good grip-place ( also a bit larger ) on the barrel of the pencil . Well it has it the type that I was looking for . It has a unique feature that ( you'd better read it in the ads and be informed ) is called " Self sharpening " or " Rotating gear " technology . Buy it , specially if you use very dark leads ( like 2B or 3B ). They are darker than standard ( like HB ) . It's because strong , nano-diamond infused leads that come with the pencil write a bit faded on the paper . Even standard HB seems faded . It's because of the pencil's special feature that I mentioned before . Good thing is : inside the pencil there is a tiny pipe that you put leads in it . This is thinner than average , so holds the leads better . Otherwise the leads sometimes break . I consider it a great feature of this pencil .

Great for writing, so-so for technical drawing.
It’s funny to think how much technology has moved on since i last bought a mechanical pencil about 15 years ago. I love the super simple idea behind the lead rotating mechanism in the end - almost like a rotocap in a marine diesel engine. It’s the full aluminium one that I have, and it feels very much worth the extra couple of pounds over the plastic ones. I find that the rotating lead mechanism works very well indeed when writing, but only really when I’m being deliberate in my strokes. If you don’t like the pencil tip completely off the paper when writing (I’m guilty of this when writing in cursive or very hastily) then the mechanism doesn’t have a chance to turn the lead and you end up with a flat spot. This is very evident when drawing or sketching. 90% of the time I find I write in block capitals at work, and as such I have no real issue with this. It’s worth considering. I have been exclusively using the recommended Kuru Toga leads and am now onto my second full pack. I find them very nice to write with but drawing at varying line weights, for example when drawing construction lines, can be difficult and I will be experimenting with different leads when this pack finishes.

Ontvangen
Schrijft fijn, je voelt de Vulpotlood pen wel tussen je fingers. Voelt koel aan, maar dat komt door het materiaal. Ook hier zit een vulling inbegrepen. Zoals geadverteerd ontvangen.

Effortless to hold and effortless to write with
It is really good. It is made of plastic, but important part where you hold the pencil is metal. That makes the grip and the feeling excellent. It seems that due to the lower part being made of metal, the centre of the mass is low and makes holding much easier and makes holding effortless, which is important for long writings. There is a window that clearly shows the graphite inside rotating. And the writing is clearly better. I don't have a good handwriting, but with this pencil it look sharper and easier to read, probably because the lines has constant thickness.
