C&HDark Brown Sugar, 2 lb Zipper Bag C&H® Brown Sugar (Pack of 2)

This dark brown sugar arrived and both packages were hardened like rocks! This isn’t useable, not returnable either. It’s a shame ti sell rock hard, lumpy sugar.

Thankful I have a source (Amazon) that I can go to, and get a bargain and delivered to my door in a timely manner. This brown sugar was just one many food stuffs I order and have never been disappointed m.

I purchased the dark brown sugar through what I thought was the C & H Store (as it it listed on the advertisement), I phrase it this way because the product look differs from the C & H Website (just looked it up). What I received was hard blocks of unusable sugar that had holes in the bags and had leaked all over the box and onto my counters and floors. I had also purchased the granulated sugar which did have sugar at the bottom of the bags (due to leakage), but appears usable. I found out these are not returnable or replaceable. I looked up the actual C&H company and the packaging is not the same as what the C & H real website shows. The brown sugar products have the pink and white Hawaiian Logo. The products sent and listed have the old packaging . I grew up with this sugar living in California and love this product. Not sure what is going on, but it is very disappointing.

I received the package and one of the bags was cut open and hard as a rock and the other was very hard also. I was able to salvage the unopened bag by putting bread in a ziplock bag with it , but the other I had to throw out.

Over half of the brown sugar is hard and not usable

I think a dark brown sugar is a good variety but the problem was the ones that I received recently was rock hard / stone hard. Whew! this is a tough one to use. Even the best by date of this variety I received was a disappointment. Date is quite too early for me .

Unfortunately, both bags of sugar are rock hard. I have to soften it up before I can even measure it or use it every time I need it for a recipe. Otherwise, the bags arrived in good order.
