There are so many lights to choose from but I am absolutely satisfied that I chose this set from HeroBeam. Main light - I had to decide if I wanted a light that was dedicated to my bike of could be used as a torch. Defiantly wanted a removable torch to increase the options for use, not just a light dedicated to my bike, which may be stored for some time. I had to decide if I wanted to attach a separate battery pack. Definitely not! I wanted to deal with a UK stock supplier, not something shipped direct from overseas. This narrowed down the options and although this offer was a little bit harder to find it ticked all the boxes with the bonus of a full set for two bikes being supplied for a very good price. The main light is a quality product manufactured in aluminium. The beam can be adjusted from a high powered spot to a broad bright beam by simply revolving the body. Very bright throughout the range and includes an option to reduce the brightness or flash. The battery life, good or bad, does not bother me as I will using rechargeables. (std batteries are included for all lights in the set). The rear lights are simple, they are bright and have the option of continuous, fast flash or slow flash and work well. Spoke lights, if you need them, work well. The packaging is very high quality and in clear plain English – not a dodgy translation from another language. Hero Beam seem to be a USA based company with stock and support in the UK. For a set of removable lights for two bikes, these are very hard to beat – look no further. If you are a dedicated all-weather night time rider you may find something more appropriate higher up the price range.

I bought this set for my teenage daughter now the nights are getting darker earlier. I have to say I am massively impressed. Firstly. Don't be an idiot and look directly into the beam of the torch when you first turn it on like I did. It seared through my eyelids and left me blind for a couple of minutes. Once I had recovered my sight I was very impressed with how rugged the front lights seem to be with a hard metal shell and sturdy handle bar grips which are easy to attach to and adjust. The beam is also adjustable with a twist of the lens and there are clear markings to show the differing beams. You can have anything from super bright narrow beam for distance to a wider flood of light which is perfect for lighting up a dark stretch of road. Just be sure to have them slightly angled down so not to dazzle other road users. The front lights, which do not come with batteries and take 3 AAA each, can also be used as very good torches. I have bought torches in the past with a similar spec and paid £20 each for. So I was very impressed at this. The rear lights(came with batteries), while only made of plastic do seem quite durable and the red light emitted from them is very bright for such a small piece of kit. They are very easy to attach and detach but if you are trying to put on a smaller bike then there are limitations as to where you can attach them as the stretchy rubber will only grip chunkier sections like the seat pole. The dust cap lights (came with batteries) are a great idea and work really well, although my daughter has not got them to look like the wheels on the box yet with it's continuous circle or green light. That being said they do their job of making the bike more visible which is perfect for my daughter. I do wonder how long they will last though in the hands of a teenager. But you do get 4 so there are a couple spare.

This is a bit of a mixed set. Inside the box you get two headlights, two rear lights, and two lights that can clip into your spokes. If the intention is to share the set between two bikes - hence two headlights and two rear lights - surely there should four of the spoke lights rather than two? I've read some reviews from people saying they've used both headlights on their bike, one angled down towards the road and the other pointing further ahead, which is a great idea, but then why have two rear lights? Anyway, I digress. The front lights are really nice. They're made of metal, feel pleasingly solid, and once you insert three AAA batteries (not supplied) they're very bright. They are operated by a simple rubber push-button on the back end of the unit, and can be steady on or flashing, and by twisting the front of the unit the beam can be focused or widened. There is also a carrying loop on the back which allows you to take the light with you and use it as a torch - handy! They are attached to your bike by a rather plasticky mount. A plastic screw opens the C-shaped rubber lined clamp, which you wrap around your handlebar, then fasten the screw until it feels tight enough. The light is then inserted from the front and fastened in place by another plastic screw. Although the lights themselves are great the mounts and fastenings let them down a little, but they work fine. The rear lights are strange. They're a rubbery lump of a thing, very small, with a stretchy rubber loop. Wrap the loop around a suitable bit of frame, then hook it over the light itself to secure it, and the unit is operated by pressing it. Once again, it can be steady on, or can flash slowly or quickly. Batteries for these are supplied, and are button type CR2032 batteries. Compared to the front lights these do feel rather cheap and nasty, but they do the job. Finally, the spoke lights are a bit of an oddity. We won't use these on our bikes if I'm honest. They thread through your spokes and are operated by pushing the central part. Again, CR2032 batteries are used and come already inserted. I took these lights out of the box and one of them could be turned on but to turn it off I had to pop it open with a screwdriver, whilst the other was OK. For us, these will stay in the box. All in all, the headlights are absolutely great. The rear lights work but feel a bit "will this do?" compared to the front ones. The spoke lights, well, some people might like them, but not us.

As with a lot of comments, the first thing to see is the obvious quality of the packaging. Nothing flimsy about it at all. No good on a bike but the extra attention to the box and internal packaging was reassuring. Prior to delivery, I also received an e-mail from the seller reminding me about what I needed to do to get the wheel lights to work. A very nice and a very welcome touch. I got these so that my wife and I could each have a good bright set of lights for our daily commute to and from work. The Contents: As promised, two front lights, two rear lights and two pairs of mini lightsabers - that's what they reminded me of and the name stuck - and an instruction sheet. Fitting: Simple. That's it in one word. The rear light snaps securely into place on the seat stem with a flexible rubber loop. The front mount is secured to the handlebars with a screw down mount but can be operated by hand. No screwdrivers! There are rubberised spacers for bigger or smaller handlebar sizes that also serve slightly as shock absorbers as you hit those bumps in the road to stop your light from slipping or flying off. The lightsabers were the most fiddly, they needed to be opened and a small square of paper removed from the top of the batteries. Fitting them from start to finish on both bikes took me a whole five minutes because I dropped one and had to put it all back together again. They work immediately you screw the cap back on and keep on working unless you don't move them. You now know they work. Unscrew the valve cap, screw on the lightsaber and away you go. The Main Beam I cycle through a country park at 5:00am each day. It gets pretty dark there so I was in need of a good light. This light is brilliant. It operates with a couple of clicks, one super bright, one about half as bright and flash mode. I don't think the brightest setting would be much welcomed by oncoming traffic in a main road, but off road, it's perfect. There is also a zoom for the lens so off road a good wide beam let me see everything. On road I'd say the narrower beam will reduce the chance of dazzling other road users and let you see those pot holes well in advance. The main light is made of alloy and feels very sturdy. It slots into the holder nicely and a hand operated screw secures it firmly into place. A para cord wrist strap can be kept in place for use as a hand torch if required. For purely cycle use though - remove it because it catches on the light mount easily. The base of the main light unscrews to reveal the battery holder. You may want to invest in rechargeables here because three AAA batteries at every refill for both lights is going to get very costly, very quickly. That said, they're fitted easily and a brief look shows that the main light has been weather proofed (in fact they all have). NOTE: I said weather - not water. These probably wont work for long in the bath but in rain I really don't think there will be a problem. All told, incredible value for money, very bright and those lightsabers are both added visibility and just plain good fun!

I was looking for a new front light for my bike as my bracket snapped on the way to work. No only are these lights brighter than the Cree Q5's, they're also lighter and have much better rubber supports on the front bracket to hold the light in place. 3 settings: Brightest light, Dimmer light, flash. The rear lights are perfect for the dark however overtime I feel like the rubber holding them on will weaken and potentially cause them to fall off, however at this moment in time, they are a solid fit to my saddle. They are incredibly east to fit and take literally a second to fit plus, with the fact that it is held on by a rubber tension loop, this can be placed, not only on the saddle, but anywhere on the frame that would be suitable. 3 settings: fast flash, slow flash, constant. The wheel lights are fantastic. They are a little dim during the day but no point in using them during the day anyway as they offer no benefit. In the mornings (between 5-8AM) with how dark the roads are, these lights are the brightest of the lot. so much so that my lights even light up the road next to my tyres too. Just be careful putting them on as you could potentially snap a spoke if fitting wrong. 3 settings: fasst flash, slow flash, constant. TL;DR - Fantastic lights, well worth the purchase and easy to fit.

Budget double cycle light set that is actually far from that. Comes in a quality box with each item set into foam packaging its own bespoke cut hole that could be used to store the lights if you where in a habit of removing them from you bike regularly. Front lights are a metal body and feel well made, they require 3 AAA batteries each (not supplied) and produce a good light beam with various focus depths and flashing setting. The shape and size of the front lights along with a wrist strap attached to them mean they could easily double as a torch once removed from the bracket. The front bracket seems a good quality plastic with thumb type screws on both the clamp to your bike and the clamp to the light meaning that the light and/or complete bracket can be easily and quickly removed if leaving your bike somewhere. One attached it seems solid enough to keep is in place on the roughest of roads. Rear LED light is small and discrete with a hook and loop type attachment to fix to your seat pole. LED has always on and two flash speeds setting via a simple button on the rubberized body. The tire value LED's are the only slight let down as they are made with a cheap plastic which you need to be careful not to over-tighten when setting up the batteries and attaching the your tire value. The value LED's are bright though so will definitely improve your side on viability to other road users. Overall good quality product that is excellent value for money that I'd happily recommend to anyone.

Two solidly built lights, with significant workmanship. The extra rubbery rear lights are bright with new batteries, the spoke flashers are very useful for side-views on roads. Drawbacks- The lights are very focused, even at maximum. A very circular light beam, with no spillage at the sides. Which is fine for a torch but on a road with movement not so much. Used on a pitch dark country road the beams from both together are too narrow to be useful. Coupled with the 200 lumens each, it is not as bright as I need. In a well lit town or city no doubt it is fine. The other main problem is the tiny twiddly knobs for tightening the light on when attached. Small and not easy to manipulate, especially if one has wet or cold hands. Certainly not ideal for gloves. So, not wanting a narrow beam, too dim a light, too fiddly a bracket, i have now opted for attaching two powerful lights in their stead. With plenty of light spillage at the edges to illuminate the broad, badly maintained roads that are my daily route. And the bracket of the new light has a more easily adjusted knob. Sorry, these are not sufficient for dark dismal lanes...

Looking for a light set for my wife's new bike mainly, but got a bonus with this one of having two of everything. The front lights feel sturdy enough and deliver a very reasonable beam of light, though we haven't tried them out on a ride yet. I really like the fact that the frame holder for the front light can be done up very tight and it doesn't slip , I've had expensive lights that you spend your entire bike ride straighting up the light because you simply cannot get it tight enough, so this is very pleasing. The rear lights are nice and bright and the light shines in such a way that you can have it anywhere on the rear frame and its right. The light that spins on the wheel is both a good idea and will be fun, I'm looking forward to seeing it spinning. Very well packed in a nice quality box that is one to keep rather than one you throw away. 5 year warranty how good is that, A British company it just gets better and better. All this for £20 it's mad. I'm very pleased with this product, I'll certainly recommend it without a doubt Many thanks
