Wow - what a great chip!
Oh, what to say about this Chip? If you want to build a cheap gaming PC, this is about the only way you'll do it for less than the cost of a console. Do (please!) get 2133Mhz or 2400mhz RAM as it makes a huge difference as this chip is using system RAM for Graphics Ram (albeit in a slightly different way to most). I wouldn't bother with Motherboards offering "GPU BOOST", they make naff all difference to this chip as the GPU is already running about as quick as it can. Power consumption is so good that even the cheapo PSUs that come with cases costing under 30 quid are fine.I have 8gb and can run Elite:Dangerous in Medium detail at 40-50fps or High at 20-40 fps (ultra is not really worth bothering with, but it will do it if you insist). On my 1080p 24" monitor, I can barely see any difference between med, high and ultra. Really, if general gaming on a casual basis - this is all you need. Get one, play with it, if you're happy then leave it at that. If not then the CPU is a little belter that can be overclocked to 4500mhz plus - it's a great CPU in it's own respect if you want to pair with a posh GPU at some point in the future. Remember, though, that overclocking won't help the FPS in games, generally speaking 3700Mhz of quad-core steamroller is enough to do physics and AI in games with room to spare- so overclocking the CPU may only make a marginal difference.I experimented with Dual Graphics - I got a good FPS boost, but some minor tearing issues. If you go down this route, then you do really need the 5gddr variants of the R7 250. To be honest, though, I'm getting the impression you might be better off not bothering and just using the onboard whilst you save for a R9 2XXX.The stock cooler is fine for all uses, up to, and including, mild overclocking. It's also quiet (well, mine is) and free. Don't bother to change it, unless you're going for significant overclocking.

Faster than I thought it would be
You often read on review sites how AMD is far behind Intel when it comes to performance. You also often read that AMD is solid value, but that their APUs are often outclassed by low-end Intel chips with money to spare for a discrete graphics card. My personal experience is that my laptop, equipped with a 2 GHz sandy bridge quadcore i7 died due to a less than expertly performed upgrade (by yours truly) recently and I found myself in the need for a new pc. I decided to go with AMD this time, as they (or ATI for GPUs) have never let me down in the past, so I trust the brand as much as I do Intel. What I wasn't sure about was how a dual-module chip (Don't be silly, AMD, those aren't four fully fledged cores and you know it) with no L3 cache would stack up against the old i7. And more importantly, how well the r7 graphics would fare against the GT555M. The answer is that, unexpectedly, it's actually faster. Now, in a properly threaded workload, the old i7 would probably still cream the A10, but most productivity applications aren't. And this system grows with your needs, because, don't forget, HSA is around the corner. As I understand it, this will bring GPGPU acceleration to many applications, without much effort from developers, just by using the new compiler. As HSA matures, this will boost the performance of the computer enormously, and while review sites say you shouldn't hold your hopes up for HSA, I respectfully disagree. The Kaveri is the only chip that supports it so far, though, and it will be a game changer. This could be as big as adding more cores was, back in the day, and as big as OpenCL never was. Keep up the good work and don't let me down, AMD!

Amazing value for money but a few negatives
Can't go wrong, ended up adding an MSI graphics card as the onboard graphics are only suitable for fairly old games or simple ones. The over clocking utility you get when you download the software, along with its other features like screen colour adjustment and under scan over scan to fit screens it's extremely useful. However certain version of the software and chipset drivers will cause repeated graphics crashes and freezing on the computer entirely. Once I found the right driver set I had no problems....shame I didn't find that combination until I had already brought a dedicated graphics card to solve the problem!

What a fantastic processor!! Sorry APU LOL...
The compute is really good and the r7 graphics are really good although i have a pci-e r7 260x card in my machine so i don't use the graphics on-chip but i did use the on-chip one to check it out and it ran medium to high specs on most games and applications. The price was not too bad considering the difference you would need to pay for intel stuff and for all the same you would get back in power or speed!Although the heatsink fan was a bit noisy noisy, but easliy put in another spare one i had and can never hear it running. Not once has it got hot and i am running high end games too.

the processor itself is good i do a lot of work on my pc ...
the processor itself is good i do a lot of work on my pc and this A10 is more than enough power but the fan included with the processor is not good the temps are really high and the fan is faulty due to not always spinning the fan will work for 10 minutes then stop spinning all together which than slows down my workload and crashes my pc and shuts it down due to the processor overheating. a recommand this processor is you multi-task a lot or if you game and if you don't you the included cpu fan.
