A little gem.
Cracking pair of bins. Very clear and bright, far better than they have a right to be given the small objective. Adjustments are secure without being tight and the focus is smooth and precise. They feel like a quality bit of kit, well made and weighty without being heavy. Easily the best performing compact binoculars I have used (others have been in roughly the £10-£150 price bracket). I bought these when they were reduced to £22, what an amazing bargain! I shall be getting another pair and will happily pay the full retail price for them if I have to.

Outstanding value
I bought these on a fancy. I have a number of other pairs of binoculars but found the price and spec of this pair a little hard to resist. I thought I would buy them and road test them with a view to returning them if I felt they were anything less than acceptable. In fact, they are quite desirable. They are not the smallest and lightest, although the image is very clear and focusing is easy. All the adjustments have about the right 'weight' to them and they are very usable optics. I will be giving them to my daughter's family for trips to the zoo and the seaside. Fully sealed, armoured and waterproofed is a plus, but at this price it won't break the bank if they get lost or damaged beyond use.

Good value waterproof 8 x 25 compact binoculars.
Bushnell, a Proud USA Company, that's what it says on the box, supply the Chinese made 138005 H2O 8x25mm Roof Prism Binoculars in a cardboard box which contains, the binoculars, a soft case, a neck strap, lens cleaning cloth and a basic set of instructions in 10 languages, including English. This is compact set of binoculars using the now common and popular system of Roof or Dach prisms. This type of optic system, although more complicated to manufacture has benefits, mainly that the case is easier to seal so making a waterproof set, (such as these) easier to make and also maintain the gas seal so keeping the internals clean, so no more spots in your vision that you can't remove without getting your binoculars serviced. This set uses the BaK-4 optics as opposed to BaK-7. BaK-4s are superior in image quality. The neck strap needs fitting to the binocular case, this is little fiddly but once done the strap feels secure and has a good range of length adjustment. The case is covered in ridged rubber type material so feels secure in your hand and the weight of the binoculars give an impression of quality and helps to keep them steady in use. When in use the size is approximately 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches (11 x 11 x 4.5 cm.) and when folded in the case they are 5 x 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches ( 13 x 9 x 7 cm).Setting up the binoculars is fairly straightforward but not as easy to achieve the best results as on other compacts I've tested. Diopter setting took a little getting used to as the adjuster on this set is quite stiff and the image sort of slowly came into focus with a bit of to and froing to get it right. Also achieving the correct pupil width to get the best image requires precise setting of the barrel width and in fact I find that if I hold the binoculars slightly away from my eyes it is easier to get a clearer image, suggesting perhaps that the rubber eye relief parts could be slightly longer. In use and in daylight with the binoculars correctly adjusted they provide a reasonably clear image for a set of binoculars at this price, brightness and rendition of colour is not quite as good as some other binoculars at a similar price bracket but they are more than acceptable. In summary; if you are looking for a compact set of bin's, that have the benefit of waterproofing at around the £35 then I would recommend them, but if you can try a few set before you buy I'd recommend that also!

Wonderful for bird watching
Slightly embarrassingly, trying them out for the first time in my living room, I spotted a thin layer of dust at eight paces that I had not noticed before. Says more for these cracking binoculars than it does for my housekeeping...Wonderful for bird watching, light and easy to carry plus quick to focus. Highly tactile, these binoculars are an absolute pleasure to own.Highly recommended.

Great!
Great little bins!I have bigger ones for serious use but these are great for sticking in the pocket.Power is just about right, easy to focus,Just one small niggle, the neck strap is too big for the size of the bins.

Nice binocular for the price; I prefer this newer model.
I ordered these from Amazon but received the older 13-0805. I also have a pair of 138005 so can compare. The optics on both appear to be very much the same and give a pretty clear picture; as I expected much better than my previous plonk 10x25 but not nearly as good as my Nikon 8x40. I would have preferred a longer reach on the expanding eye-piece, and probably a rubberized edge. Now the differences. The 138005 are lighter at 290 gms than the 13-0805 at 368gms. That makes more difference than one might expect. I prefer the lighter ones; others may prefer the solider feel of the older ones. The build quality is pretty good even on the lighter ones. The 138005 have a very precise and nice to use focusing mechanism. The 13-0805 have a rather sloppy mechanism with a lot of play. This makes them considerably less pleasant in use.Very good value at the £20 inc p&p I paid, I would be a little less keen at around £45 several vendors are asking.

Easy to use
Bought for my 7 yrs old grand daughter who is a young ornathologist. She loves them and takes them everywhere. Easy to use, lighter than other we tried. Easy adjustment. Good grips. Fits her eyes comfortably.
