Do these pencils produce a good strong colour?

Good colour without having to exert much pressure - my two year old Granddaughter loves them.

Noting some comments about possibility of sharpening? Any tips on a sharpener that does the job? thank you

I just use the sharpeners that have two size holes on them. The bigger size is fine for the crayola jumbo pencils. I bought a pack of the metal sharpeners as opposed the the plastic ones so I know they last from amazon for just a few pounds.

Do they have a bigger nib so they have bigger coverage with each stroke

Yes they are much wider at nib and also chunky to hold for small hands. My 2 year old granddaughter loves them.
