Sharp EL531WH Scientific Calculator - White

This is a great calculator, and is recommended for anyone who intends to use it for computer science exams. Can convert decimal to binary, octal, hex, all very easily, and seems very durable. Also has all the usual scientific functions, making it ideal for school students also.

Brought for college for my daughter as it was required for maths lessons.A lot cheaper than most others but good quality and still working well.

This is a good quality, sturdy feeling calculator. I bought it for my son as he is approaching his GCSE's and although I'm no mathematician, I can tell it has all the features he needs and more. Hopefully he'll be using it in his school work for years to come.

I have to use this model of calculator for exams at my school. I have no issues with it. Good quality and good value for the money.

The functionality of the 'Rectangular' Sharp EL 531s is different to that of SOME OF the 'curvy' (wider at the top - Sharp WriteView Calculator Scientific Battery-power 4-line 335 Functions 2-key Rollover - Ref ELW531B) ones !The Rectangular design misses several features that the curvy one has including 'A/B' - the rectangular shows 1 1/2 as 1r1r2. Crucially, you're looking for a button saying 'change', third roiw of rectangular buttons down right hand row.As an adult, I don't want this, but for GCSE maths, kids do need it!Quite why Sharp give pretty much the same name (EL531) to quite different calculators eludes me!The 'black curvy' version is better than the equivalent Casio (I have both) - I'd say buy it if you're a user to that level.This calculator is just fine if all you need is a basic calculator with trig etc. - I haven't used the Stats on any of them, so can't comment

The calculator works well. Good clarity and easy to work functions. Care should be taken in the trig functions, as an accidental operation of the DRG button changes the Degree, Radian and Gradient mode

Great for school I bought it for my daughter's homework so far no complaints good quality item.
