Tested with a Thermometer — Runs About 2° High
I spent hours researching before choosing a heater for my 5-gallon tank with baby GloFish, and this is the one I ended up going with. So far, I’m really happy with it.One of the biggest reasons I chose this model is the adjustable temperature. It has a wide range (59°F–93°F), which gives much more control compared to preset heaters. That’s especially important in smaller tanks where temperature can fluctuate more quickly. The digital display is a huge plus, but I still tested it with a separate thermometer to check accuracy. I found that it runs about 2°F higher than the set temperature (for example, set to 70°F → reads about 72°F on a separate thermometer). Once I adjusted for that difference, it held temperature consistently.Installation took seconds — it secures easily with suction cups and stays in place without shifting. It’s also a good size for a 5-gallon tank and doesn’t feel bulky or intrusive. The controls are simple as well. You just press the button to cycle through temperatures, and you can hold it for 3 seconds to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. One thing I really appreciate is that it has built-in safety indicators on the display:E1 = heater shuts off if it’s out of the waterHH = temperature is too high (over 95°F)Both are helpful safeguards and easy to correct — just fully submerge the heater or allow the temperature to come back down. It’s also recommended to keep the heater from directly touching the bottom of the tank, which is something to keep in mind during setup.Overall, this has been a solid, easy-to-use heater that gives me more control and peace of mind. Just be aware of the slight temperature offset and adjust accordingly.I will update if anything changes with longer use!⏩️Fast forward:It has been 2 weeks of constant use (24/7) and I have had great results. The thermometer has kept my tank at a consistent temperature without any unwanted fluctuations. It still runs about 2° higher, but has not showed any signs of going higher or lower than that.⭐️I included a setup video as well as photos + comparison temperature readings

Nifty!
Bought a 5 gallon tank for my betta and needed a heater. This is a bit on the bulky side, but does it's job. I set it at 78 and it took about 5 hours to achieve it's temperature starting at 67. Once it gets there, the light turns blue and it stays set unless the temperature drops. When I put my new betta in the tank, his water was off a bit, and that quickly, it showed the heater temp at 77. Within an hour it was right back at 78. Seems to work well so far. I tried one suction cup that worked fine, then put it on the other to make sure it would stay put. I don't think it needs it as it seems to be "too much". I may remove it when I do a partial water change. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent Performance and Value for the Price
I’m extremely satisfied with this water heater. It’s the perfect size and does an excellent job heating the tank efficiently and consistently. The heater shuts off automatically when the set temperature is reach making it safe for the fish. The only improvement I would suggest is the ability to calibrate the thermometer, as it appears to be off by a few degrees. That said, considering the price point, this is a minor trade-off and doesn’t take away from the overall performance.Overall, a great value and a solid choice.
