Good size , easily cleaned and allows the loose leaf tea to infuse

Looked at quite a few different makes of glass tea pots but this one seemed to be well reviewed and I now know why, its quite small and I got the 700ml one, it does hold nearly 700ml and makes two good sized cups. It pours perfect and does not drip even if you tilt impatiently, the infuser is very large and roomy which sits quite low, brews perfectly and is well made, it doesnt feel brittle like I've read about some other well known glass teapots. All in all I am extremely happy with it and would recommend it. Update 2 So I found out that Hario do two very similar Cha Cha Glass Teapots, this one "Cha Cha Kyusu Maru" and the "Cha Cha Fukami" (No joke) This one the Kyusu has a flatter lid that just sits on the rim of the pot, the Fukami has a indented lid that sits slightly inside the pot. The difference I have found is that you can get just a little bit more water in the Kyusu than the Fukami. I bought the Kyusu 700ml which will fill two western mugs with a tad to spare, I also bought a 300ml Fukami but because of the lid it will not quite fill a mug fully. Also using the Gong Fu method its a little harder rinsing the leaves off the Fukami lid than the Kyusu lid when rinsing the tea first time. They are both really good teapots! I bought the 450ml Hario Cha Cha Kyusu Maru Teapot CHJMN-45T, this one is perfect for one person and you will get a mug of tea out of this teapot, so the 700ml version is perfect for 2 and this one for 1.

Amazing teapot! It's practical and looks good! I have now bought this in two different sizes. The glass is good quality and strong and the spout is excellent for pouring. I prefer small spouts on my teapots as this makes them less prone to getting knocked and damaged, especially when washing up. What is unique about this teapot is the shield around the lid which makes it much easier to stay on while pouring. It is comfortable to hold and also looks very elegant with it's simple shape. The strainer looks quite good quality but I don't use it because I prefer to give my tea leaves more room inside the water and then pour with a strainer. The only gripe I have is that the brand name (Hario) and product info like "made in Japan" has been printed on the front of the teapot. However, it's quite subtle so is not a major problem - but it would look better without (this information should be on the base!).

The Hario 700ml makes a lovely pot of tea that is perfect for an individual drinker. It shipped directly from Japan and took just over a week to arrive. Made entirely of glass, it was obviously securely packaged and arrived safely. The glass is not thick or heavy. This is a light and delicate pot, but the glass but certainly seems strengthened and durable, or is at least designed to be tough. The glass lid fits neatly, but doesn't click in anywhere. It shouldn't slip, but you might feel more secure keeping a finger on top while pouring. The steam from the hot water will gather and condense on the lid. I personally rinse the tea-pot with a little hot water before adding and brewing the tea. I found that the Hario glass keeps the heat in well, and it certainly won't go cold before you finish the pot - not at 700 mls anyway. Most importantly, it just makes a lovely cup of tea. White tea, green tea, rooibos - the large round mesh filter is so fine that not a grain of a leaf gets through. The tea never looks murky and pours clean. Taste is perfect every time.

A lovely little teapot. I had it for about a year, using it pretty regularly. Very easy to clean and keeps the tea warm for long. Only problem I had, it being a glass tea pot, a couple of pieces chipped off last time I picked it up and it couldn't be repaired. I was overall happy with it, so had to buy it again.

This was my second (ever!) teapot! I stumbled across it on Amazon for something like £13 (?!), postage included. I'm well acquainted with Hario's outstanding range of coffee glassware, so really couldn't resist. I'm not sure I appreciated that this *would* be posted from Japan, without tracking info, so delivery would take a very big number of weeks. But the anticipation soon became part of the joy, and when it arrived it exceeded my wildest expectations. The basket is awesome - deep, wide, and really lets the tea breathe. This was a pleasant surprise - my first teapot (also glass) had a rather tight and mostly-steel basket, and tbh I just hadn't appreciated how much tea leaves expand (I'm no tea connoisseur, as you might've guessed...) The design is lovely, too - the glass lid fits the basket *perfectly*, holding the tea leaves back. And the glassware is properly up to Hario standards - the handle feels ohsofragile at first, but I've come to trust it completely. Long story short, this is a lovely little blighter. It's accompanied me in discovering a plethora of teas. I'm delighted to've ordered it, and wouldn't hesitate to order a second!

I have bought two of these - one for my daughter to take to University and one for myself. The design is so simple and I love the fact that the filter goes right down into the tea-pot, so that if you only want to make one cup, the tea leaves will still be in the water. It is also large, which allows plenty of room for the leaves to circulate. We were initially going to get the more conventional teapot design, but then decided that there was more likelihood of the spout getting broken, so went for the Hario CHUMN instead. It looked tiny when it arrived, but fills two Denby mugs with tea; it pours well and is easy to clean -perfect!

Despite the long delivery time this teapot was worth the wait. The large basket makes it ideal for brewing great loose leaf tea, as the leaves can circulate and move around in the water. I use mine for peppermint tea everyday and find two heaped teaspoons brewed for 6 minutes in boiling water creates the perfect pot. It's a doddle to clean and can probably be put in the dishwasher although I'm yet to try this as I'm to impatient to wait for the dishwasher to go on before craving my next cup. Very small bits of tea do make it through the strainer but they usually settle at the bottom so as long as you don't pour out every last drop, only a minimal amount will find its way into your cup. Also do take the strainer out before pouring or water may cause tea leaves to find their way out of the strainer and into your cup. I may have deducted half a start simply because the lid will slide off when pouring if not held on. But really this is no big deal. I highly recommend this to anybody who loves a good brew, plus in the long run you save a fortune compared to buying those fancy tea pyramids!

I’m a gong fu style type of tea drinker. But I wanted something larger than my clay pots that I could just keep at my desk while I work because getting up to brew gong fu style is annoying when I’m in the zone. I also like drinking low end teas like hojicha or earl grey sometimes, and I love trying out new types of tea (which I can’t do with clay). I thought of porcelain but while they’re a classic I find them boring. I decided to try this pot and I’m glad I did. The glass is beautiful and I love the simple design—it’s looks much better in person than the photos. It’s lightweight but not in a way that feels cheap. The strainer is wide so the leaves have breathing room. I love the visual aspect of seeing the colour of the tea which is kind of relaxing. It pours like a dream—no spills. The handle doesn’t get hot at all. The body does get hot but not scalding. I put 95°c water in there and I could touch it for a few seconds without pain-so no issue if you accidentally touch it. And it’s a great neutral material for trying out different teas since it doesn’t affect the taste of the leaves (unlike clay). If you’re a tea connoisseur you probably won’t be looking at glass teapots, and on Amazon. Don't expect to brew pu’erhs in this. And I have a dedicated tokoname clay pot for my Gyokuro. But you can definitely brew other high quality teas like Darjeeling or silver needle or high mountain wulongs. And literally any lower end teas or flowering teas or herbal teas will work in this pot and give you a really nice aesthetic experience.

The teapot is very small in size because it has a capacity of only 700 ml. But its a dainty little thing that is very beautiful. It is very light weight and yet feels sturdy. It is ideal for making tea for two people.

I usually don't leave reviews for products. Almost never. Actually this might be my first. This should tell you something - to ignore my spelling mistakes and other signs of general illiteracy. But this teapot is fantastic. Some demographic info: I'm a 21 year old man, freshly adult, and recently turned tea snob. So naturally I need a teapot to accompany, nay supplement my loose leaf, nose upturned, calling-tea-color-liqueur lifestyle. Previously I had been brewing my tea in a thermos with a little mesh insert, a practice that if employed by anyone else I would surely mock brazenly. First impressions - I had read almost all of the reviews and some of them had mentioned that this teapot is rather small. When I opened it, I thought to myself "this teapot is rather small". But once I stilled my beating heart and actually made some tea I realized that it's pretty much the perfect size. Filling it close to the top, with a comfortable margin, I get enough tea for two very full mugs, and in my frugally heated apartment the pot keeps the tea piping hot for the second mugful. The basket is nice and large. I've heard others say that this is necessary for the leaves to swim, luxuriate, mingle, copulate, bask in their collective consciousness. Shoot me if I ever anthropomorphise tea leaves like that. But it is nice to have a big basket so that the water actual reaches the center leaves. To that end, it would've been nice if they included a diving board so that the leaves could indulge their inner child (or bud, if you will), but now I'm splitting hairs. It's made of glass, so it's breakable. I haven't broken mine yet, but I reserve the right to in the future, hopefully during the height of an argument. I think it'll shatter very well, but that's just speculation at this point. Only complaint (very minor) is that the handle is kind of hard to grip when the pot is full of hot tea. My hand has a tendency to slip down and touch the hot pot. But I just changed the way I held it, and that's been working well. I'm actually glad, I was getting a little set in my ways. Bottom line - buy it. It's not a samovar, but for one or two people (I can dream, can't I?) it's perfect. Very aesthetically pleasing, functional, the mesh is plenty fine, even rooibos can't sneak through, and I've had almost no stems get stuck. It's top rated for a reason.
