This is a great router to work with. Small and light, easy to hold and control. Great for edging work and other smaller jobs. My old 240v 1/4 inch router hardly gets used now! Don't expect it to do the work of a 1/2 inch router and you'll be delighted.I already have other tools from the range so the bare unit is good value for money.

This is a really good tool, that has been on the receiving end of some nice engineering from Bosch.It does look odd, and the shape of the grip seems to confuse people initially, but when you get your head round it, it's a comfortable design to use. The asymmetric layout gives you a really stable platform to guide the machine along a surface without the risk of tipping over the edge and digging in, which I always found to be an irritating risk when rounding over with a heavier conventional router.Quality of life factors are strong with this design, it's so small and easy to use, and really lowers the bar for what's worth putting small finishing touches on. It is also remarkably quiet for a router.Because it is so hassle free to use, I find myself grabbing it to finish an edge nicely even where it's not strictly necessary, and is something I definitely wouldn't have bothered dragging the big router out for.The quick and precise depth adjustment is really well implemented, although a graduated scale would have been a useful addition. I ended up adding a paint mark to one of the grooves on the fine adjust wheel to help keep track of the rotation.The design of the spindle lock is great, and really ought to be standard on all routers (and any other tool with a spindle lock!), It is so convenient that it latches and you no longer have to hold a fiddly little button in while you're wrestling with a spanner!It doesn't rotate as fast as a mains router, but for trimming and rounding over, it's got plenty of power. It manages 6mm (1/4") and even 12mm (1/2") grooves in ply and softwood fine as long as you're realistic and don't get greedy with cut depths and feed rates. I've not tried hardwood yet.There are a few interesting designs for 3D printed accessories on thingiverse and other design sharing sites, which gives you the option to add accessories such as a fence, circle cutting fixture, dust extraction, etc that Bosch don't offer directly. There are even a couple of designs for router tables, which could be quite handy for some users.

This is a nice piece of kit. It is surprisingly powerful and relatively easy to use. It’s easy to set up and light so making it very versatile. I also got it for a good price.The only downside for me has been the location of the on/off switch. I have not been able to turn it on or off with my operating hand, I’ve had to use my other hand. You need to be aware of this to operate safely.

I used this trim router for the first time today and I must say I’m very pleased with the quality and results of the finish. The router is simple to set up and use. Adjusting is very easy. I had a 1/4” shank 12mm x 30mm trim bit in it. I used a fresh battery which was more than ample power for the cut I had in mind. The machine performed admirably.

Had a bit of trouble after the first delivery went "missing" but amazon were very quick to rectify and sent a next day delivery.Ever tried trimming with a full sized router? Using this little thing was amazing. Made it 10 times easier. So much so I am now going around trimming everything I can see. Perfect case of the right tool for the right job.

Really useful lightweight router, very versatile and capable tool

Bought the product as looking at it for a while, thought it would be nice and easy to route out door hinges!First problem you come to is there isn’t any worklight built into it, absolutely crazy as the small area you are able to see at the cutting zone gets completely clogged with routed shavings, so you have to stop every 20 seconds or so to lift up and blow the dust away! And it is so difficult to actually see what you are working on!It’s one plus point is that it is nice and quite to work with.But that one small plus point pails into insignificance for its it’s 2 major flaws! You either have to where a head torch or get someone to shine a light on the area where you are working! You can’t connect a vacuum and also there doesn’t seem to be anything you can purchase to fit guide rails on to it either!I am hugely disappointed as it is an expensive piece of kit! This could have been an amazing little piece of kit which professionals and domestic tradesman alike would have a pleasure owning and using! I’m completely shocked Bosch dropped the ball in such a big way on this tool!! just a couple of minor tweaks and this would have been a fantastic little tool! Whoever passed this off deserves sacking! It may work great for laminate trimming as it prob won’t get clogged up, but you’d still prob like to see what you were working on!So just to sum up, Dont waste your money as at nearly £200 you will be really disappointed!I think if Bosch address those couple of issues it will be a great tool, but untill then I basically see it as unusable and I am going to return mine as not fit for purpose!Hope this helps I am not being horrible to this product, just trying to be as honest as I am! And I really do think if Bosch address those problems, and they are only small fixes, it will be a great little tool!
