Decent sound and build quality but 3.5mm fits loosely into jacks
Being cheaply priced, I didn’t have the highest hopes for this product, although the build quality of the piece seems rather good. I have personally used this for headphones and into microphone jacks and the audio quality is nothing to complain about. However, I would be aware that when it comes to fitting the adapter into different jacks you may have some problems. For example, when connecting to certain devices, the 3.5mm jack plug is slightly loose and awkward to keep properly connected, resulting in having to adjust the adapter into place a few times before it works. Because of this its also easy to move out of place. This issue should depend on the deceives you are using the adapter with. I’ve personally not experienced any problems with the 1/4-inch socket however.

nicely made with gold bits. lovely.
I've used plastic bodied versions of this type of reducing adapter before, so it was rather pleasing to unwrap this little beauty. It just looks cool and professional; it's weighty and has gold bits, and that makes me happy. It takes the 1/4" jack with a very solid and reassuring clunk; there's no play or looseness. I'd recommend a short female to male cable between this and whatever minijack socket you're intending to use, as the combination of this adapter and a 1/4 jack would put quite a strain on the socket if it were to be plugged straight in.

There is nothing wrong with this adaptor at all. Build, sound quality etc are all completely fine. Any issues with fitting are more likelyto be caused by the socket on the device not this plug. I'm using it to connect a pure dab radio to my Sennheiser hd595's, and the sound qualityis exactly the same as with the original sennheiser adaptor [which broke, eh, after I sat on it. Uhm. Twice.] The socket on the radio is itself abit wonky [errh see above] but using any other source and the the ex-pro etc works just fine. You can by this with confidence.

Headphone sound quality great!
My old adaptor jack had sound problems, had become loose and gave distorted sound - this new one is an excellent fit, sound quality consistently very good - the part is metal, sturdy, with gold plated contact surfaces … and highly recommended.

Does the job
I was a bit nervous about deciding which of the adaptors to buy given the conflicting reviews but decided on this and am really pleased with it. Used it on the long flight to Australia and back with my old large earphones - perfect!!

Useful if you have a full sized jack plug
Great, needed an adapter to put on the end of my vintage Sennheiser HD424 headphones and this done the job perfectly.

Looks good, but ...
Looks good, but, like all mini-jack devices, cannot cope with the weight of the 1/4 inch plug. Connection, as a consequence, can be sporadic. Annoying.
