I have few Bible stories at home, but they overlooked lots of details in the story, this one is really different in a good way!! Very good explanation of each story, nice format, easy to read and my kids love reading them by themselves. This stories are written in a way that my kids feel that they are part of that story too. Once again very good written, detailed which leave my kids with good imagination of what the story is about, which leads us to a good Bible study with kids!!!

I bought this book to read to my 8 year old grandson, we're not a particulary religious family, but he had asked me a few things about the bible, so I thought I'd give it a go and he he really enjoys the stories, and can understand how they are relevant in our lifetime. It's written really well for children to be able to understand and I would definitely reccomend this book for young children. 👍

This is my favourite children's Bible ever, mostly because it does not contain trite "Sunday school story" snippets from the Bible with no context or application for the children to learn from. This Bible explains how each of the Old Testament stories contained relate to God's plan for all mankind, and how Jesus fulfilled all of God's promises. Try reading each of the Old Testament stories in Advent, it leads up to the Nativity wonderfully and gives you (adults too!) a very memorable overview of the history of God's people up to that point. The pictures by Jago are modern enough to appeal to "cartoon"-oriented kids but beautiful and awe-inspiring enough to keep parents (and other old fogies!) happy too. This edition is beautifully bound and is ideal for sharing with a large family or group of children. The stories are probably best understood from age 3 upwards but I would not stop any child from listening to it! We also have the edition with the Audio CDs narrated by David Suchet Jesus Storybook Bible Deluxe Edition , they are wonderful too.

Brilliantly written. Sally Lloyd Jones knows just how children think and how to write in a way that appeals to them. The bible stories are written in a way that children can understand and that can be thought provoking for adults since the language and ideas are very relatable! Beautifully illustrated. This is the best children's bible I have come across - and I have viewed a lot! You can view the spoken version on youtube so that you know exactly what you are getting in terms of the content and pictures (which are the same on youtube as in the book). Highly recommended.

This children's bible is told in 44 stories- 21 from the OT and 23 from the NT. Every story links to the ongoing plan of God's "Never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love." It does this by linking every bible story to Jesus's death and resurrection.For example, at the end of the story where Moses comes down from the mountain with the 10 Commandments to see the people with the golden calf the book says "No matter how hard the people tried they could never keep God's Rules all the time. God knew it and he wanted them to know it too. Only one person could keep all the rules. And many years later God woud send him- to stand in their place and be perfect for them." I really love this truly beautifully written way of retelling God's story for children and as a long standing christian and Sunday School teacher it has affected me greatly. I would recommend this book to ALL Christians and the God-curious. I bought this copy as a gift for a work colleague's daughter aged 5 who is really loving it. I use my own copy extensively in Sunday School. It makes for a perfect gift and there are also DVD's and an audio CD available (read so well by David Suchet of Poirot fame).

This is not your average children's bible story book - its written to read out aloud to your children. It is not the typical saccharin half truth - but it is the whole truth written so that children can understand and see the deeper truth of Lord Jesus Christ as He exists in every WORD - excellent, can ho recommend highly enough

I must say this is the best storybook Bible I have ever seen. The pictures are charming, the wording is smooth and the message of Jesus is prevalent through Old and New Testament alike. My entire Child Development college class bought one each, and it was not a curriculum textbook. A steal for the price, this large print edition is the way to go if you hope to use it for teaching. I also find it comfortable to read (although not so portable as a small novel like the "regular" edition). Ok, I'm a guy and I am nineteen years old, and this book speaks to me. Need I say more? I want this storybook Bible to be read at my funeral.

This collector's edition has a hardback book of the Jesus Story Book Bible, 3 CD's of the story and a DVD. I love the joyful, encouraging way this book is written!! Sally Lloyd-Jones writes with the idea that the entire Bible is the story of God's love directing us to the birth, perfect life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the redemption of all who believe in Him. God's love is the main theme. David Suchet's narration is delightful and insightful. He clearly has a loving relationship with God and wants to share it with others. His fascinating voice and enthusiastic reading enthrall listeners from 2 to 63 years old. I have not viewed the DVD's, but I highly recommend this collection for children of all ages.
