Beware of YouView bug that prevents HDMI & SCART EPG
First point is that this product fills an definite gap for anyone who has switched away from Sky to an alternative platform that doesn't provide the RF2 with I/R control that seems to be exclusive to Sky. It fits in nicely for those who may already have a Triax 'LoftBox' for piping TV to multiple rooms. It's far cheaper and less disruptive that the wireless HDMI senders (approx £200) or the HDMI JuiceBox (approx £400) or even HDAnywhere (£400+).That said if you have a Humax YouView box and use the HDMI for your main TV (I'd guess that's a high percentage of people) then the second TV will not receive the EPG and other onscreen graphics due to this bug:[...]The full list of bugs is here: [...]The work-arounds are either:1) disconnect the HDMI whenever you want to use the second TV (you could install an HDMI splitter and divert the output to an unused socket)2) disconnect the HDMI and connect the main TV via SCART to the SCART output on the Triax Tri-LinkOh and remember (as already mentioned by others) to use the best quality SCART cables you can manage, it will make a difference.

Simple to install and works perfectly.
Brilliant piece of kit. I was using coax cable from RF out on my Sky box to send my picture to other rooms. Introduced a new Vu + satellite receiver which does not have RF out. Found this Triax Tri-Link kit and decided to try it. The satellite receiver has scart out so I used that to get the signal to the triax box. Then sent RF out (9v) into a splitter/amp and sent it to three other rooms. I bought additional 'magic eyes' as you only get one in this kit (they are only cheap anyway) so I can control the satellite receiver regardless of which room I'm in.It was a quick job with me already having coax cable installed into the rooms I wanted to send a signal to. I tuned into (analogue) on the tv's but found the picture was poor on default ch36. Swapped that to ch21 and it was very clear, so did the same in other rooms with the same result.Easy install and very good piece of equipment which works well. Impressed and feel that the 'magic eye' system used with the Triax box is better than the one I've replaced (Marmatek Powermid IR senders/reciver) as the Powermids do fail in time as the sensors go and so you need to constantly reposition them or worst case replace them. When buying the triax, make sure you order F-Connectors and any additional magic eyes you need at the same time. Neither are expensive but you will F-connectors for sure and magic eyes if going to more than one room. You will kick yourself if you have to nip out and buy F-Connectors locally as you can get 10 delivered off Amazon for the same price my local TV/Sat shop charge for two!

Control Virgin Tivo and also Freeview around the house
Having recently had to move across to Virgin TV as growing trees prevented me receiving a SKy signal, I was looking for a way to pipe the Virgin tv around the house like I had with my Sky system. Came across this little box and it worked first time. I plugged the tv arial into the RF in, and then connected the RF1 out to the tv arial socket. I plugged a scart lead from the Tivo box into the A/V input on the Triax box, plugged my existing RF2 cable into the RF Output 2 socket and switched it all on and bingo. Left the channel setting as the default 36, retuned the TV's to get an Analogue and Digital signal and can now watch and change channels on both Freeview and Virgin all around the house. The Triax box provides a 9V? output to the RF2 cable which meant that I could use my existing T140 signal booster in the loft (uses the power provided by the RF2) and my existing magic eyes (I have silver ones). Only thing you need to do to ensure you can change channels on the Tivo box is put the little IR receiver pads really close to the IR position on the Tivo box (press a button on the Tivo remote control and you can see where this lights up). Note, I can watch different channels to the main TV on Freeview in other rooms but if using Virgin this directly controls the main box so if you have somebody watching tv connected to the main box then changing channels will affect what they see. Very happy customer. TRIAX TRI-LINK Kit Control Sky, Freesat, Freeview around the home.

Hum When connected to Humax Freesat Box
This item replaced the existing as the remote was not working. This item had a loud Hum on all channels. The old unit was reconnected with the new IR transmitter and all worked well with no Hum. Having searched the internet this is a known fault and there is a solution by fixing a 4.7uf capacitor in the Tri- Link Modulator to act as a filter and I am having this fitted by a specialist. My low scores are for the Modulator not the supplier who I would give 5 stars for delivery on time even though their price was higher than others.

Work well but fiddly to set up
It does work to distribute signal from a box with no RF output socket. So that's great. I've got one box that does sitting room, kitchen and bedroom and another for elderly relative that does her bedroom and sitting room.So needed to get two of these Triax. I got one working pretty easily, but the other one went beyond my novice skills and I had to get an engineer in as he had to change something in the distribution set up in the roof. As after all that cost i'm still saving £300 over the next 18 months...... I'm happy. The fiddly bit is getting the IR discs in the right place on the box for the remote to work in the other rooms. Takes 2 people, one to try the remote and one by the box trying left a bit / right a bit until bingo. Then whatever you do stick them down hard. I've also put a bit of tape across the wires so they are also held firm.Note that the Triax comes with its own magic eye but also works with existing ones.
