Asterix: Asterix Omnibus 3: Asterix and The Big Fight, Asterix in Britain, Asterix and The Normans

I have a big collection and this was another addition. Good quality printing and I would buy again.

Aged 49 I am trying to replace all my old and worn Asterix books from the 1970's, these Omnibus versions are a great way to do this. I have also read the books again, they are just fantastic fun. There are jokes for all ages in these books, both written, pictorial and circumstancial jokes as well as strong story lines and clever plots, some of which are based on fact. There are jokes and facts in these books that maybe you didn't get or didn't realise as a child and so reading them again as an adult is a pleasure. Dare I say that these books are educational as well, so its good for kids, although it may be difficult sometimes to differentiate between fact and fiction but overall these are far from the wrong books for children (and adults) to read. Highly recommended.

Have been buying this series for my grandson, who doesn’t readily pick up a book. He loves them, the wacky illustrations go down a treat and he is enjoying reading them himself. Great objective accomplished!

Not much to say really. A good collection of stories and very well printed. Delivery was quick. Very pleased.

Nice colirs, good size, not too much weight.. unfortunately, a little but dusty, had to clean it with a wet cloth whichcwas fine for the cover but the inside is dusty too:( would have given 5 stars has it been clean

Asterix is where I picked up all my latin phrases so it is now time to pass that knowledge onto my son. Good quality bind as well!

livre anglophone relié rigide grand format récent (2011/1966) 3ème tome d'une série d'ouvrages regroupant chacun trois aventures d'Astérix; dans ce cas: le combat des chefs, Astérix chez les Bretons et Astérix et les Normands; le format, conforme à la BD originale offre un confort certain pour la lecture, l'anglais est généralement accessible bien que parfois d'un niveau de culture particulièrement élevé en particulier pour les jeux de mots (nécessitant la présence d'un dictionnaire papier ou en ligne à proximité); les noms communs de personnages ou de lieux ont été réinventés et sont parfois plus réussis que dans la version francophone originale (par ex Cacofonix ou Getafix); cette série existe aussi en version brochée mais la version reliée est plus chère (l'occasion n'offrant que rarement des prix intéressants); elle permet de se constituer une collection à un prix plus abordable qu'en achetant les albums séparément; c'est un excellent moyen de redécouvrir ces aventures tant aimées de notre enfance et de se divertir tout en améliorant son anglais

I read these comics as a child over and over again. They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining. The story follows the members of a small village in Gaul whom resist the Roman Empire by virtue of a super-strengthening potion brewed by their druid Getafix. The heros of the stories are Asterix ( a short, but smart warrior) and his best friend Obelix ( a large, boar meat loving, loyal but not smart warrior whom fell in a cauldron of magic potion as a child and as a result has permanent super strength). You can read each comic seperately and be able to follow the story, though certain characters do repeat throughout the series. I am buying them again as an adult and enjoying them just as much as I did as a kid. I definitely recommend these comics.
