Craghoppers improved on their classic Kiwis
Finally they got rid of that useless belt with the classic Kiwi. These have a much more elastic fabric which dries and sheds mud more easily. The cut is pretty relaxed as well as stretching when needed, crossing styles etc. These will become go to trousers for a new generation of walkers given their keen price point. Well done Craghoppers.

Flawed design
Have used the original Kiwi Pros for a number of years, but am not too keen on this updated version. Issues I have are:1. The zips on the pockets are awkward compared to the originals. A lot of the time you are fighting to open or close the zip, and often have to use both hands.2. Placement of the cargo pocket. On the old version, the pocket was on the left leg at the side and was quite convenient. On the new version, the pocket is on the right front, so anything you put in the pocket is resting on the top of your kneecap, most irritating. This has prevented me from using this pocket.3. The old version had a straight leg design, new one seems to flare outwards from the knee. Bit like 70's flares.

Poor zips, catches too small and weak
Pretty short in the leg. If tall avoid.Pocket zippers are poor. Small zippers, fiddly from new and one broke after a week.

Decent performance, good range of sizes
I have been using Kiwi Pro for a number of years now and they are now on the second version. The material they are made from has a light stretch and is very lightweight. Wind resistance is ok, they do come with a DWR layer, but this does not last long. The nature of the material though means it dries quickly when wet. There are 4 pockets, 2 usual hand pockets, one at the back, and one cargo. The cargo pocket on the new version is a weakness and the reason I have given them 4 stars. The old version had the cargo pocket on the left leg at the side. New version is right leg, but the front of the leg. Anything you put in there feels awkward and not very comfortable.Range of sizes is an advantage with Craghoppers. As someone with a short legs, I appreciate that short leg versions of these are 29in. Waist sizing is off though, and I recommend ordering a size up.
