Wahl Curved Scissors 13cm 5

This pair of inexpensive, plain curved, bull nosed scissors - 5" long with a 1.5" cutting surface are ideal for removing matted hair from my GSD's long haircoat, and the finger holes are plenty big enough even for my fumble fingers.My Shep gets matted very quickly inside his 'jodhpurs,' between his back legs and around his 'baccy pouch.' These mats get felted up fast, and no mat splitter or rake can remove them - they have to be cut out. Even regular grooming doesn't stop them forming, especially when he's been wet and muddy after an afternoon's activities.I don't want to use pointed end snips, or straight edged scissors, just in case I accidentally nick him - he's a good boy and stands really nicely for me to tidy him up, and I don't want to make him worry.These scissors are simple to use, I put my fingers between his skin and the mat (sometimes there isn't much room) and use the curved scissors with the 'back' of the curve trimming the mat away. It doesn't take long, and saves any of the pulling that inevitably occurs if I try to use a splitter.These scissors lost a star, because although they were inexpensive, they're made with very basic, rather dull metal, and haven't been very well engineered.The scissor blades do sharpen up on my knife sharpener, but as I lose scissors for a pastime, I may not have these long enough to find out how good or bad they are.So far, they've been used twice, to remove about five or six big clumps of felted mats, and seem to be holding up without loosening, although they did get very blunt, very quickly.But if I don't lose them, and they don't fall apart after a few more uses, I'll update this review and rating.

Sharp safe and curved

Well made and good value . I like Wahl products. Dropped a star because I have big fingers . Took a while to adjust to using them but all okay. In the end .

Grind together when snipping. Seems like the blades don't meet properly and this creates a cutting action that isn't as smooth as I expected. Thought Wahl would be good quality so was a but disappointed. They get the job done but may have to invest in a better quality pair.

Overall very pleased with this product.Delivery was easy and quick. Previously I had been using a straight set of grooming scissors and I was concerned about hurting my pet.Now with this being curved it makes life a lot easier. The product quality feels high end and has a nice weight to it.My only comment would be that they seem to be a little siezed up at first. After a few uses they loosen up making it easier to cut.Overall very pleased.
