This was a gift for a 9 year old bug-mad girl. It’s really durable, works well and is the perfect size. My 6 year old son can also use it comfortable, and it’s really good quality and lots of fun. Overall it looks great and is definitely worth the money - I felt it ended up quite the bargain!

Very impressed by these. Bought them for use in the garden during the summer and had a shot myself and was amazed at the quality of the viewfinder and magnification. Used with bugs and plantlife you get some amazing detail when used out in good light. They are well put together and the lanyard is a great help making sure they don't get left behind when out and about. The light is also handy although we've yet to put it to any real test in bad light. I can't believe these can be had for less than £5. A lovely little educational toy that would be great for curious minds during the summer months.

I got this for my daughter when she was 3 or 4 after seeing it at a friend’s place and have since bought another one for a slightly older nephew as it’s so good. Everyone is surprised by how well it works - it is a really powerful microscope and we’ve had loads of fun looking at and learning about everything from the diodes on TV screens to the fibres of clothes to leaves and feathers. It often accompanies us on walks since it’s small and light. The only problem is that the clear round bit on the end falls off easily and can get lost. The microscope still works without it but it’s a little harder to hold in the right place (its function is to touch the surface so that the actual lens is a few millimetres away from the item being looked at and the light shines on the item). But otherwise it’s flawless - the light is important, the focus adjustment easy though rarely needed as it stays focused once set.

This was loved by all and a definite winner for birthday present ideas! 3 year olds up to 70+ had a go and were all amazed at the level of detail seen on anything we tried it on including clothing and leaves! So easy to use and small enough to keep in hang as for emergency entertainment times!

This entertained the adults as well as the children when the gift was unwrapped( testing it out and they were surprised it worked ) . I wanted to buy a microscope for a child interested in looking closer at insects. However, traditional styled microscopes would have been too complex for their age . Also I wanted them to be able to use it outdoors. After much searching I found this and it seems a good choice . We were surprised such a simple idea did magnify things well , you just have to teach the child where to put the things they want to see in more detail .

Light toy, easy to carry. Interesting, light switch not obvious so child wont turn it off and it can drain the battery. Good view of stuffs, interesting..

Bought as a gift so it's not been out of the box. Looks like a good size for a child to handle while exploring....can't wait to hear how it goes.

Bought as a Christmas present for my grandchildren which they take out and about on their family walks to look at details on anything they want!

I bought four of these for school nature backpacks. We’ve had tabletop microscopes with poor or average resolution that were $50 or more. These have great resolution, are lightweight enough for young children, and the little button cell batteries (included) are covered with a screwed-on cover. We plan to order more. The value is great.
