Perfect for camping, needs a stake if going camping
Just been camping with this and it is very strong and perfect size, we attached it to a spike stake and that was much better than using a standard lead. Our dog still got her legs tangled in a few times but it would happen with any long lead. Would buy again but it looks solid so I doubt we will need another one for many many years...

Good for first few months
Good for first few months, dog managed to twist wire so now permanently bumpy but sturdy and has not broken, length good for needs

Excellent for camping
I bought this based on the other reviews as we needed something for when we went away in the caravan. Our dog doesn't like other dogs or humans much, she also is very prey driven (any smell of a cat, rabbit or chicken and she's off). This is all manageable when at home, but is an unknown quantity when away. This worked brilliantly during the day when we were on the campsite, we used it with a PetGear by Happy Pet Tie Out Stake. Not only did it give us some piece of mind, but she was very happy using it. We have since used it in our back garden so she could be outside with us whilst we were waiting for our neighbour to mend their fence. Otherwise she is off after nextdoor-but-one's chickens. She came to us at 3 years old and we think she had been used for rabbiting. We had to re-home our own chickens when it became apparent she was never going to leave them alone. So this was a god-send.

Tough, well made. Not for fast/strong dogs
Great tough lead. Would love to see a much shorter one on the market. This one is too long for a fast running dog. My saluki got to full speed on the length and snapped the metal ring in the stake. Made really well though. No fault in the product but would love a much shorter one. The same length as a normal short lead.

Rusts if gets wet.
Does the job but started to rust when it rained so not sure how long the clasp will remain working

Buy it!!
I bought this for our very strong dog to go camping with and so glad I did. It was very strong so no worries about her escaping!! Didn't get knotted either due to the steel cable running through it.

The seagulls are safe, for now.
Worked well at the beach to keep my little pooch from chasing the seagulls... a bit of a pain when her circled the the area where we were sat and pulled everything over and flicked sand everywhere- but I guess that is just part of going to the beach and having a dog.

What a great piece of kit
What a great piece of kit. Our new rescue dog jumps 7ft fences - but no longer. I put this on the washing line and it keeps her in the garden. It is finer than I thought which is ideal and she can't chew through it either.
