What is Tinea Versicolor?

Tinea Versicolor is a common skin infection caused by an overgrowth of yeast. When it spreads, it disrupts normal pigmentation, creating small patches that may be lighter or darker than surrounding skin, most often on the trunk and shoulders.

What causes Tinea Related Issues?

A number of factors contribute to the root cause of tinea related issues, such as: hot & humid weather, oily skin, hormonal changes, and a weakened immune system. Although the condition may return after treatment, it is very easily treatable.

Can I give it to other people?

Although the condition is not visually appealing, Tinea Versicolor is not harmful and it is not contagious to others. You will not get this from sharing towels, clothes, or physical contact.

How important is it to get UV Ray Exposure after treatment? How long does my skin need to be exposed to the sun?

UV ray exposure is important to bring back natural pigmentation. After treating the infection, new skin cells absorb UV and return to normal color. Sun exposure doesn't need to be long. Anywhere from 5-10 minutes after treatment is enough.

How long should I treat for the Tinea to go away?

Results vary based on your dedication to applying the product and the severity of the condition. Most customers report changes in 4-10 days, depending on the extent and longevity of the case and time spent in sunlight.
