How is the best way to flush out the system?

Assuming you have a open vented system there should be 2 water tanks in your loft, the smaller tank is the one for central heating, put a stick across it and tie the ball cock to the stick so the tank cannot refill up with water.
SWITCH YOUR CENTRAL HEATING OFF !
On one ground floor radiator you will find a little pipe that has ridges on it to which you can fit a length of garden hose so you can drain the water in the system off. I also use a hose clip as the water will be dirty and could stain you carpet if the hose becomes detached.
Then close the drain trap put the sentinel in the tank and then release the ball cock so the system fills up, you may need to bleed one or more radiators.

do I need to flush out after i apply inhibitor a week later?

Accepted Answer

No, once you have added the inhibitor to the system it stays in there. If you read the container it tells you what the inhibitor does. ( it treats against corrosion etc and lubricates any moving parts such as the pump) I have used this for over 30 years and can tell you that it works. Hope this helps.
