Going hiking in ad weather means I needed a map holder which would be waterproof. This product serves me well. The pockets are good and the map fits well. It can be folded and stored away in the backpack if not needed. Navigating using it means that the map never gets wet. An essential piece of it for all hikers.

Water resistant not waterproof so you’ll still need to keep an eye on water ingress. I’ve used it lots now in the hills. Very handy item and I’m pleased with it, especially when used with printed off paper maps from the OS App.

It was helpful as a map holder in the sense that the opened route guide we used fitted the map case and was easily visible. However, the first (and only) day on our three week trek that it rained, resulted in the map book becoming damp. In addition, after three weeks continuous use, the velcro was fraying and not holding the fold closed in moderate breeze, or moderate snagging on clothing. Good value for calm dry conditions, not for rainy weather, despite its waterproof claims.

I specifically wanted a map holder for OS maps - to use for map storage when I’m out and to protect and view the map when needed. I primarily use the maps for cycling so the holder will be in & out my pannier as required. I echo other reviewers - depending on how you orientate the map the holder can be too wide. You obviously need to fold the map until its displays what you need - a bit awkward but does work. The velcro for the viewing window is strong and no doubt will stay closed keeping the map safe - I’m not sure how dry but using it out in pouring rain is asking for trouble. The neck/shoulder strap is good and a decent length. The velcro fastener for closing the holder has two options - close it like a book (see my photos) or you can roll it up. For the money its good - if you use OS maps I would recommend getting one.

I bought this as it looked perfect for me. Its not a cheap one but it's good quality, waterproof and folds up. It comes with a good lanyard, not string that tries to strangle you in the wind

Muy buena calidad aunque el tamaño es algo reducido. Caben bastantes mapas debajo del que vemos y trae un velcro para que no entre el agua, con lluvia leve el mapa no corre ningun problema aunque el portamapas no sea estanco del todo.

Come da descrizione. La plastica (quella trasparente) é solo da un lato, mi aspettavo che ci fosse (internamente) anche dall’altro, invece c’è solo la tela. Quindi non è impermeabile al 100%, anche se la tela una certa protezione la da comunque. In ogni caso per me, é ok
