Extremely Disappointing Experience with Zomato E-Gift Card Purchase via Amazon – Unreliable & UnacceptableI am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction and frustration regarding a recent purchase made on the Amazon India website. On 13th May 2025 at around 7:19 PM, I purchased 8 Zomato E-Gift Cards worth ₹5,000 each, totaling ₹38,800 (after 3% discount), under the promise of “Instant Delivery” as clearly stated in the product listing.However, contrary to that assurance, I initially received only 3 gift vouchers via email, despite the payment being processed successfully. I immediately contacted Amazon customer service and was told to wait for 4 hours. After waiting more than 16 hours with no resolution, I called again. This time, the executive named Suraj advised me to wait another 48 hours.Eventually, I received 15 emails containing gift vouchers. Shockingly, 9 of them were duplicates, leaving me with only 6 valid gift cards out of the 8 I paid for.I attempted to seek resolution yet again and was subjected to repeated call transfers between multiple so-called “senior managers.” One representative even suggested I contact Zomato directly — an absolutely unacceptable response given that my transaction was with Amazon, not Zomato. When I declined, I was transferred again, and as of now, I have been left on hold for over an hour with no resolution in sight.This experience reflects sheer mismanagement, gross negligence, and a complete breakdown of customer service on Amazon’s part. Not only have I been financially short-changed, but I have also been subjected to immense mental distress and wasted time and money.Amazon is clearly failing in its responsibility as a seller by providing faulty, duplicated codes and then denying prompt and fair customer support. It is appalling that such a major platform would enable this level of consumer inconvenience and potential fraud.Buyers beware — DO NOT purchase third-party gift vouchers like Zomato through Amazon. The risk of being shortchanged and ignored is real and serious. I will be considering all options, including consumer grievance forums, if a resolution is not provided promptly.
