OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPad (A16) & iPad 10th Gen - Black, Rugged, Durable, Multi-Layer Protection

I have a fairly new iPad 10th generation Wi-Fi + cellular that I’ve already had to have the screen replaced because I dropped it and the case it was in didn’t protect it.I Have arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome so dropping things unfortunately is fairly common for me. I try and deal with it but when it’s something expensive it’s very frustrating.The repair shop that replaced the cracked screen strongly recommended this as a replacement case so I took their advice.You have to disassemble it to assemble it but it comes with easy to understand instructions, including a link to a video with steps to follow if you need it and I watched it just to make sure that I hadn’t made any mistakes putting it together. I didn’t have anybody to ask so that was reassuring.I haven’t had it long, so obviously I can’t say how it’s going to hold up long-term, but I am definitely reassured by the fact that it’s so strong and sturdy. I don’t think even I in all my clumsiness can be stronger than it is. But of course, time will tell. However, I am very encouraged by the way it looks and feels and also based on previous purchases of OtterBox products for iPhones.

Excellent Quality, Durability & Strength.Although it comes with a built-in screen protector, this protector is plastic and not very durable, I removed it. I had a tempered glass screen protector installed instead.Works and looks very nice.

My kid has tossed the ipad so many times in the last 6 months in the hospital ( my oldest has leukemia and has frequent treatments I have to bring my toddler with) she has put this thing to the test and minus the stand breaking (honestly it was justified and it kept the ipad itself from being broken). East to put on, works great, no issues with the screen and youching through it. fits perfect. easy to get on and off.

I have had many Otterbox Defender series cases, and they have all been consistently high quality. This one is no exception. The description says 10th generation only, but it DOES FIT my iPad A16 (11th gen). The only thing I do not particularly care for with this case is the screen cover/stand. It is rather flimsy and seems more cheaply made than the one for my old iPad. I also do not know what the second cutout in the screen protector to the left of the camera is for, it is kind of annoying because it doesn’t seem to serve a purpose. Other than these things, the case itself looks great, fits my iPad A16 perfectly, and is of high quality. I would recommend this case for superior iPad protection!

Super protective and very sturdy, but also weighs more. This item is used on a full-sized iPad which gets carried around a lot and perched on different surfaces. I love that it covers the screen so we don't need a separate screen protector, but still is very sensitive to touch. The corners of the case are prominent and I certainly don't worry about dropping the tablet. There is no way that the tablet can fall out of the case. However, it does make the tablet more bulky and heavier, a trade off for better protection.

This is not a good case, it says it has shock absorption but upon receiving I realize I have had defender series in the past and they are useless, I can’t say that about this exact iPad version yet because I haven’t even attached it but the hard plastic is on the inside and a super thin rubber exterior. Defeats the purpose if the side that can protect it is in the exterior not protecting the device. The commuter series they make for phones is the only good product that OtterBox makes. I mistakenly purchased this thinking it was the latter. Commuter series actually offers protection because the rub is directly on the device preventing shock from penetrating. Also this case had a plastic piece attached to the case that isn’t listed in the description, the box instructions also don’t mention this but on the front in small writing it says that it’s a screen shield but otherwise there’s no mention of this. Thinking that it was just a prop to keep the box from caving in I removed it because it was supposed to just be a case not a cover. Now there’s a glue strip around the entire case that makes it unusable because i don’t want glue on my brand new tablet. It’s not a good “screen cover/shield” either. It’s very flimsy and popped right out. The glue is super sticky but the plastic sheet is just that. It doesn’t offer any type of protection. Complete waste of money since I now can’t even put my tablet inside unless i want glue all over it. I’ve been trying to clean it with rubbing alcohol for 25 minutes.

Good price and good quality. Easy to use.
