1/35 Scale Diorama Base No.4 - Dimensions 165mm x 155mm

Ordered 2 1 was broken the other was fine not the sellers fault

Fields of Glory ceramic diarama bases are really nice, weighty as they resemble a tile type ceramic, but the detail moulded into them is excellent, I have built 2 now and am really pleased with the quality. I used gloss enamel paint to paint the surface, them used a flory dirt wash to pick out all the shading and detail. It's very easy then to wipe away the wash you dont need to leave a really realistic finish. Excellent items, just one drawback, because they are ceramic they are brittle and the base can be broken by the fall from your letterbox to the floor. I had one break, I wish f.o.g. would bubble wrap their bases before dispatch, but that's the only drawback, otherwise excellent.

This item arrived quickly and ahead of the delivery date, it was also very well packaged against the abuse typical of delivery services. It appears to be a plaster molded unit, but don't let that put you off. The quality of the mold is extremely high and this is very nicely detailed, making it easy to paint and pick out details and aging/weathering. Once painted, it looks really nice - especially if you have any skill with a brush or airbrush - you can get a really impressive paint job done. I purchased this with the intention of displaying a zombie figure set I purchased elsewhere, and while I expect the finished product to look good, this would fit a large number of other display purposes. I fully intend to buy more of this item for other dioramas I have planned.From the attractive design, great detailing and excellent material used, this is worth the price and adds a beautiful eye-catching piece to any model display. Of course, I dare say that there are people out there more than capable of making their own item like this. I can pilot a paint brush and an airbrush with competence, but scratch building something like this is a little beyond my current ability. The future though? Who knows?

There isn't much to read, but I didn't do it. The moulding is crisp and looks 1/35 scale. I didn't expect it to be unpainted but that's ok because I like painting but when I put my 1/35 leopard tank on the base I wish I'd bought a bigger one.

I WISH I'd read that it was unpainted..hahahhaha...bit of a surprise when it arrived. Totally my fault for not reading the description correctly

Not gonna lie.... I thought this was something my son could use for his war hammer figures..... I have no idea what I'm doing here
