LITTLE FRIENDS Double Metal Rat Chinchilla Ferret Cage on Stand

The instructions were not informative, just got a diagram. Managed to put together in a short time.very sturdy and good value for money.

Superb build quality, way superior to the junk that Pets at Home sell and worth the extra money. This can be used with or without the stand.

I was sceptical because of the price and the comments on the instructions which where completely true but amazingly the cage is extremely good quality. I mean REALLY good quality it’s amazingly sturdy too and perfect for my rats they love it!

Bought this for my chinchilla Natsu,came in a week. It came undamaged but why is there a need for the four little doors? there is not, only came with one set of screws for one bowl holder, I don't even use it, I took out the second level at its bad for chins feet and put in my own wooden shevles, the base is plastic so I have to cover i with fleece, the stand is really good.Over all its good but I think the people who make it need to change its design with the little doors ruins how it looks, but it fuctions just fine as a chinchilla cage :)Currently have two chinchillas living in it now :)

I'm gonna start with the bad points, which is mainly amazon. It said all this buy it now you'll get it in 2 days- LIE. It comes in 3 weeks.That made me want to give it 0 stars, but I'm rating the cage...I've got my 2 rattie boys in it, they love it! lots of room, reallly good value for money. I don't have the stand put up, it's just on the floor- would be too high otherwise.The instructions are awful, I ignored the first one personally, I ignored all of it to be honest, just work out which bits need to go where and screw them together, The opening closing thing on the doors is a little stiff and also the wire is a little flimsy, but I've got 2 big boys and they can't get out of it, the doors are good and big, the twirly round food things are a little useless, I mean they work fine but why you need them is beyond me... I've only got 2 screwed in, just left the other two with the black bit there.I feel like I've been focusing on the bad a little too much, because generally this cage is excellent value, I took a bit of a gamble getting it I think, not many reviews (why I'm writing this!) and generally not a well known brand, and kinda cheap... which made me think twice- but they could have easily priced this cage at 120, I would recommend it, it's not amazing quality, like, AMAZING amazing, but it's still good! No major faults with the cage, just amazon really. it's nice and big, good old rat cage calculator says big enough for 3/4 but I would say it's a good size for 3 smaller rats, or 2 big ones... I wouldn't really cram 4 big boys in there. If one of mine sadly passed, I wouldn't think twice about getting another two babies to put in there with the other.Happy ratting :) I hope they enjoy, only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is amazon, and tiny faults. AMAZING VALUE, big cage, fine when you've got it set up.ooooh another thing they don't say is bar spacing, it's small which is good, my last one was half an inch which would have been too big for babies, but this one is fine :)

Not put it on the stand - didn't need too. Love the space it provides for our chinchilla. Easy to clear out the paper we put over the floor in the cage. Easy to feed. Easy opening doors...everything is easy and accessible - chinchilla is very happy. Not the easiest or quickest to put together - but husband managed it without instructions or any swear words - so I consider that an easy (ish) assembly.

very quick delivery n great packaging, I cudnt put it up by myself had 2 ask my son in which he only cud do it a few days later when asked, still took us 3hrs lol, I didn't find the instructions gud, had 2 guess more 2 put the cage 2gether, my pet ferret finally got in2 his new cage, I think he found it a little strange as most animals wud, I used 2 ave a flat cage on the floor where he got out the cage himself, he is well used 2 it now got sum new things 2 go in it as its a big cage, I have put the cage on the stand n its brill wud recommend 2 anyone who needs a new cage at a good price, well worth the price

There’s good and bad things about this cage for rats, can’t comment on chinchillas. It’s a great size, but it has drawbacks. It’s also fairly pricey.The plastic tray at the bottom is very shallow, preventing deep fill bedding, and arrived cracked which required repair. There’s also a thumb width gap at the front which rats under 11 weeks could easily escape through, which we had to cover. We’ve ended up buying 4 acrylic panels to fix to the edges of the tray to make it artificially deeper and put the metal insert (do not use in the cage with rats) underneath.The floors are wire, which aren’t suitable for rats as advertised, so the middle floor had to be taken out.The two front doors are very large and the locking mechanism is great. The 4 windows for food and water bowls are very loose and easy to open (possibly by rats) so had to be tightened shut. The front panel can easily be taken off with 4 screws which makes rearranging hammocks a breeze.The metal is very thick and strong and even persistent gnawing by a new rat didn’t even mark it, which is also good. One more drawback with rats is actually the height off the ground which makes coming out for free roam intimidating.
