What a difference!
I read a blog online about how this seat is so much better than the original seat on the Shwinn 170 Upright Stationary Bike. The blogger tried multiple brands and landed with this one being the better of all of them. For me my sit bones were killing me with the original Shwinn 170 seat and after riding only 2.5 miles I had to stop. Now I can go over 10 miles before my ass starts getting sore. Lets face it. Bike seats are always going to be uncomfortable to some extent but this seat made a huge difference...at least for me.This particular seat goes on the Shwinn 170 exactly like the original seat does. You dont need any adapters.

Fantastic quality saddle but for exercise bikes - Works with your bike if you change the seat post
This saddle is built like your dream cruiser bike saddle: 12 inch spread, thick padding, quality top to bottom. It does not have springs or elastomer suspension. What it has is a flex base that flexes stiffly with your pelvic motion as you pump the pedals. The padding, btw, is medium-firm. The saddle is designed for indoor exercise cycles. It can be used on a standard bicycle only if you use the included seat post clamp for 7/8 inch seat post fit. It will not work with an integrated seat post because the saddle rails are thicker than conventional saddle rails, and the rails are spread wider, making it impossible to fit into an integrated seat post. I don't know what to rate this saddle since I had to return it: it's a fantastic saddle that I never got to try out.OCTOBER 16 2019 UPDATEAfter trying more saddles, including the Laterelle, the YLG Winged, the Serfas Full Suspension Cruiser, and the Schwinn No-Nose Comfort, I ordered this saddle one more time, and I changed the seat post on my bike so the saddle would fit. I'm so glad I did. The build quality is top-notch, and after going on three test rides, up to 10 miles, I return with not a bit of discomfort. The bottom side of the saddle is a soft, thick plastic layer intended to flex with your sit bone motion as you pedal, plus, the saddle has two halves (sides), each half flexing independent of the other. The "give" in the flex isn't much but it makes all the difference in the world; your sit bones are not pressing down on a hard, unforgiving base. Do a search for "Serfas I.C.S. Master" on YT and you can exactly what I'm talking about. After two years of trying more than dozen different saddles, including Brooks leather, and many others, this saddle is the keeper and I'm very pleased with it.

Still a bruised bottom, but much less than the other seat...
PROS--Comfort:So, I had hoped to avoid the bruised bum of a beginning cyclist on my new NordicTrack S22i Studio Cycle. While I still have had to adjust and toughen my derier, this seat is definitely more comfortable than the seat that came with the bike.Looks:The seat looks like it was made for the bike. I was concerned with how it was pictured that it would not look sporty enough, but it actually blends in quite well and is unnoticeable as to being aftermarket.Size:The size is perfect! I am a female who fluctuates between size 12 and 14 in pants and this seat is a perfect width. I find that by adjusting my seating position forward and back while I ride and as I toughen up, that I avoid most of the discomfort. I expect that after another week of riding I will have no more bruising with this seat.CONSThe only con was install on my exercise bike. Installation was so frustrating that my son actually quit and I had to completely take apart the seat to get it on.... That being said, I don't know how much of it was the seat's design vs the bicycle's design. The directions on my new exercise bike did not clearly show needing to slide the seat all the way forward to access the turn knob for tightening the seat clamp. This seat WILL FIT the S22i, I just had to take the bolts off the bottom of the seat to fit the bars properly into the clamp and then find the dial on the bike to clamp it all the way down.Even with the frustration of a newb installing it, this seat was worth it and I am happy with the purchase.***One star off was for the width of the bars on the seat making it hard to install and the continued bit of bruising on my bum after 2 weeks of use.

Worth every penny
The discomfort from riding only about 30 minutes was significant enough that I considered getting rid of the entire bike, but I figured I would try a seat cover first. While researching, I came across this Serfas RX Exerciser Bicycle Saddle, and despite initially put off by the price, I eventually decided to try it out. Thus far, I have ridden for almost an hour with no discomfort, so the Serfas saved me from wasting all the money I spent on the bike.

If you're a bit heavier, this seat may not be for you.
I found that riding using this seat aggravated a hip condition as the gel cushion was fairly hard on the rear end. This surprised me since I had used a similar Serfas seat for a few decades on the exercise bicycle. I purchased a gel seat cover from Derriair (SKU BSTR-11-110) which was able to cover the Serfas seat and provided a far more comfortable ride for me. It really comes down to how the seat feels to you but the Serfas seat, as is, did not have sufficient gel for me and the gel was too hard for my comfort. However, I'm about 270 lbs and so keep that in mind. I would still have no reservations in recommending Serfas to others.
