It’s super solid for the money, you do have to tighten the drag a good amount for it to work correctly, the rod has a good solid action, the reel is also good but would like it to be made with a tighter tolerance but it is budget so I can’t complain much, I like the floating line especially because it has a loop, and the carrying case which was one of the main reason I bought it, I haven’t used the leader much but looks alright, drag is nice as well, no major complaints, I’d say buy it if you want a budget travel fly rod

My Aventik 3/4wt fly combo just showed up at the front door! I couldn’t get it out of the shipping box fast enough! The rod/reel tube looks great…interesting “window” on one side. The other side has a zippered pocket that’s the perfect size for a couple fly boxes and some gear. The color and finish on the graphite rod are totally awesome! Very nice quality cork handle and the wood reel seat is beautiful!! The pre-spooled reel is the same as my other two Aventik graphite reels, just a size smaller, so it balances perfectly with the 8’1” rod and I know the drag and bearings will be great. I can’t wait to get this rig out on the water and take it for a test drive!

I’m new to fly fishing so I’m not sure about these poles. I’m not new to fishing though. I bought three of these poles for me and my sons. We already started practicing with them. They seem to be of good quality and work well. The case is durable and seems like it will hold up.

LOVE this rod! I use it often and even when I’m choosing to take a break or eat a snack, my partner prefers to use this rod to his. His is also a great rod, but this is super light and flexible and makes the catch that much more fun!

I purchased this combo kit to learn how to fly fish in the small river by my house. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on equipment until I was sure I was going to like fly fishing. I have been bass fishing me entire life and have an appreciable amount of fishing gear. This combo kit looked like it would be a good starter set and included everything needed to get started. It also has an impressive spec on the rod saying it is IM12 graphite and an aluminum reel. I was disappointed with the fit of the reel on the rod. After sliding the reel into the seat, the retainer ring moves back and forth and does not engage with the reel. Even with the screw and locking screw all the way in, the retainer ring just moves back and forth and the reel moves back and forth almost .5 inch. I will have to wrap it to take up the slack. I don't now if the reel was just to small for the seat or was the retainer ring too large. Whichever the problem, I now question the quality of the rod and reel. Don't now how long this kit will last.

I am very pleased with my recent Aventik purchase. This 3wt combo is small and compact but powerful. It is so fun to cast and can catch a nice carp just as easily as a sunfish.

Come with everything you need to fish! Great setup for the price!

Really good deal for price. I have numerous quality fly rods. Bought this to leave at a cabin I visit once a year. Solid setup for the price. Performed great on 12-15” trout.
