You have to press any button..and they will be on for a few seconds.

Hi. The complication with the pro- model is that it lacks the flashing LED to tell you when you're in time set. Press and hold the Mode button for about 5 seconds (not the 2 seconds mentioned in the instructions). Then start pressing the Adj button. If the display started altering, you're in set-up and from that point it's per instructions. Good luck.

Question? Is the time displayed 12:06?

No - time is displayed through two rows of lights which are formatted in binary format. For example - 12:06 would be shown as1100000110The time isn't shown constantly - but stays lit for about 2 seconds after pushing a button on the side.Overall, I wouldn't recommend this as an everyday watch unless you are a binary fanatic.

Would it fit a child (age 11) ?

My wrist is approx 6 inches and I'm a woman. It fits me on the tightest hole Hope I've helped
