A great follow-up to the previous Hummingbird Bakery titles
I already have the 2 previous Hummingbird Bakery cookbooks so when I saw that there was a new one coming out I knew I had to have it. The recipes in this book are not overly complicated and should not prove too daunting, even for those with limited baking experience. Despite this book having a heavy American influence it does not require you to buy a set of measuring cups or involve searching online for hard to find ingredients as all of the ingredients can be found in any well-stocked supermarket. Each recipe comes with an accompanying photo and the instructions for each recipe are clear and concise whilst providing detailed instructions for each step The previous book, The Hummingbird Bakery Cake Days was divided into chapters by occasion (Easter, Christmas, Halloween for example). This book sticks to a more traditional lay-out. This book is divided into the following chapters: Cupcakes Cakes, cheesecakes and roulades Cookies and biscuits Pies and cobblers Traybakes Sweet treats and classic puds Savouries At the back of the book there is a section called 'baking essentials' which should prove useful for those with limited baking experience. Please find below a list of all of the recipes featured in this book. The Hummingbird Bakery did it again!
This is an other good cookbook from the Hummingbird Bakery. I already own 'The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook' and 'Home Sweet Home' is a lovely addition with new recipes and no repetition. The chapters are: 1) Introduction 2) Cupcakes 3) Cakes, Cheesecakes & Roulades 4) Cookies & Biscuits 5) Pies & Cobblers 6) Traybakes 7) Sweet Treats & Classic Buds 8) Savouries 9) Baking Essentials The recipes sound delicious (Crème Brulee Cupcakes, Key Lime Cupcakes, Peanut Butter Cheescake, Red Velvet Roulade) and the photos that accompany each recipe look mouthwatering. What I really like about this cookbook (and the Hummingbird cookbooks in general) is that everything is so neatly arranged: You always have the amount one recipe makes, the ingredients, and the equipment in a column, next to it there is the recipe and on the other page there is the picture. Furthermore, the ingredients are divided into sections regarding the part of the baked goods, there are for example sub-categories for spinge, custard and decoration. I haven't tried any recipes yet but I've never had any problems with my other Hummingbird cookbook and what I've read so far sounds both logical and doable. I can't wait to start baking and would recommend this cookbook to anyone interested in baking!

Best book yet
i thought considering I have two other hummingbird bakery books, i wouldn't need this one but once again the photos won me over and I parted with my cash! I think this is actually the most inspiring book for me and there are so many new ideas and captivating recipes included in this book. you can now find a lot of the original recipe book online, and the cake days book is limited to cakes (obviously) but this one has really beautiful pictures, easy to follow instructions and different recipes to anything I've seen before. if you like the other books or are looking for some inspiration, this is just beautiful.

Another quality cookbook from Hummingbird
I've got both of the other Hummingbird cookbooks and use them regularly, although 'Cake Days' is my favourite. Was looking forward to see what they could come up with for book 3. As usual, a high quality book, beautifully illustrated with clear and concise instructions. So far have only made the Chocolate Pudding Pie, the fact that it lasted less than 24 hours in our house speaks for itself! The only downside of some of these recipes is that they will clearly be expensive to make. For example the Grasshopper slices call for a kilo of top quality white chocolate for the middle. Anyone who's bought a bar of e.g. Green and Black's chocolate lately will have a rough idea of the cost involved! Hence 4 instead of 5 stars. A good book, some unusual taste combinations, and really interesting looking cupcake recipes. Good to see some savory recipes in there too, but to my mind, not as good as Cake Days.

I am fatter because of it
Bought this for the cup cake supremo that is my wife - she's never made a bad cake from the Hummingbird books and this one is no exception. It's worth seeking out the proper ingredients - food colourings especially - as they do make a difference. We especially like that with a Hummingbird book you don't get any overlap with the previous editions, there are no repeated make weight recipes, it's all good new stuff in there. Excellent cakes, well written and illustrated - we just need calorie free chocolate that tastes like chocolate now :-)

Fab Book!
Having already purchased the other Hummingbird Bakery books, I just had to get this new one. From cover to cover my daughter and I "oohed" and "ahhed" over each recipe and I am under strict instructions that we are going to work our way through the book from beginning to end. It really is superb and the instructions are so easy to follow. My only grumble, which is not with the book but with Amazon, is that I purchased a copy for myself at £7.40 one week and the following week ordered a copy for my niece and it cost me £10.00. Although I don't object to paying £10.00 for such a fantastic book, I do think Amazon should be a little more consistent in their pricing!

Excited to have some new cupcake recipes!
Was really excited when this arrived as I already have the other two Hummingbird Bakery cookbooks and love them. I haven't made anything yet (will be at the weekend!), but this book is full of excellent sounding recipes with some more unusual cupcake ideas. I have seen reviews of the other books criticising the amount of sugar used, this book is similar but the way I see it, these are designed to be treats not everyday meals! The book arrived at work, so my colleagues have already flicked through and placed orders! Update 16/3/13, have now made the Jaffa Cake cupcakes, doughnut cupcakes and chocolate coconut cupcakes, all have worked perfectly and been very much enjoyed! Will be making the chocolate malt cake the week (as my own birthday cake!)

Brilliant, Innovative and Creative
I bought this to help give me so new ideas for a 'welcome to the world' cupcake party my cousin was having for her new born baby. So many different ideas I was spoilt for choice! There's lots to do on some of the recipes but its well worth it for the presentation spectacular. Presentation is back up with "scrumminess" as well and everyone loved the flavours. There is a cake for almost every occasion and every pallet. Would recommend all of the Hummingbird book but particularly felt you got loads of recipes for your money here.

Suchtfaktor hoch 10

Amazing.
What a book. Worth every penny. Great recipes that are full of flavour and yet to dissapoint.

Ottimo.

Imprescindible.
