What are the pieces stuck with? Velcro?

Hi, Yeah they are held together with Velcro. Our granddaughter played with them constantly and none of the Velcro came off. Seem to be very safe.

How many full pieces (not halves) are there?

The set includes a chopping board, knife & plate with 14 various pieces of fruit & veg a fish and a pizza, so 16 pieces of food in total (not halves) . Hope this helps

Would this be suitable for a 1yr old?

No, most of the fruit breaks into halves (which you can stick back together as it has Velcro) and although it’s too big to swallow for an one year old the bright colours would mean the child will definitely put the pieces in their mouth. I don’t know if the paint on the pieces is safe to put in a child’s mouth.
