Great Elliptical for the price
I am a 69 year old 175 pound male with diabetes. I purchased the Yosuda Pro Cardio Climber Stepping Elliptical Machine several weeks ago. I wanted something other than a stationary bike to exercise in the evenings or when it is wet and/or cold outside. It took my 11 and 13 year old granddaughters about 75 minutes to put the machine together. If it was just one granddaughter or myself, it would have been together in less than an hour. Sometimes, the more help, the longer it takes, but they were proud of their assembly work so I happily spent the extra time. Yes, we had to take a few screws out because they were so excited to get it together, they missed a few washers. My job was to make sure it was put together properly and the screws/bolts were tight. They actually did all the work. I selected this machine because of the good reviews and the price. It was very quiet and stable for the first workout. My wife actually came up three times during my first workout wanting to verify I was still exercising. The second through fifth workouts were progressively a little noisier. However, before the sixth workout, I tighten three screws and two bolts on the “Upright Support into the Main Frame” and the noise went away. I will be checking these if or whenever the noise reappears. If I would want anything different, I would like a longer stride. However, the 13 inch stride is easily manageable. Five minutes into the first working, I had adapted to that stride. A longer stride would mean a bigger machine and it might not fit when I put this one. The monitor has no backlight, and due to where I positioned it in my home office, it is hard to read without additional lighting. It would be fine if I turned it 90 or 180 degrees so there was some light behind me. My feet slide a little forward, but no more than they did at the local YMCA on their far more expensive and bigger ellipticals. I really like the small compact size that doesn’t take up a lot of room, and I don’t have to move it before or after I use it. I get really good workouts. My sixth workout was 23 minutes. While there are a few things that might make it better, I would definitely buy it again. It is well worth what I paid for it. I expect many more workouts on this Elliptical Machine.

Affordable elliptical machine, but assembly is difficult
First off I ordered this and a rower both from Yosuda. I really enjoy the rower and the elliptical I think will be a nice addition to my selection of cardio options. For reference on leg day (twice a week) I will use the elliptical, on back day I will use the rower (twice a week) and the rest of the week I will use my trusty old stationary bike unless weather allows for me to simply go for a walk. Yes, I do cardio everyday. The machine works well once you figure out how to put it together and run to the hardware store to get the proper size bolts and nuts to attach the bottom half of the legs. But first you have to struggle to get this out of the box. I have never seen so much packing tape used to secure styro foam and plastic wrappings to the inside of a box in my life! It took 30 minutes to get it out of the box and remove all the packing material just to get started with the assembly. The bolt provided with this machine for the bottom half of the legs is too thick in diameter to ever fit together. Once you line it up and try to tighten it it stops turning. The reason is the diameter is correct just before the first ridge on the bolt but with the ridges to make the bolt threaded is a larger diameter. $11 dollars later at the hardware store the problem is solved by buying two new bolts and nuts. Actual assembly took me an hour and half by myself and I skipped connecting the lines for the resistance and sensors since the pole they run thru is too narrow due to a post running thru the middle of it. Clearly there are design flaws here that could have been fixed had they done testing on the assembly of it before making it available for purchase. Also the instructions are awful. In their defense the layout of parts is well thought out.So for a basic elliptical with no sensors or resistance it should be fine since it is sturdy. I considered returning this since I have a Gazelle Edge that I bought 10 years ago maybe that never really has been used much so it looks like new and I think it is basically a cheap elliptical. However it does not have an adjustment for resistance and you glide up and down in a straight motion instead of in a more natural walking movement that the elliptical provides.Update:I have built countless pieces of gym equipment over the years (weight trees, smith machines, squat racks, half racks, hexbell racks, rower, stationary bike, squat stands) so I have a pretty good idea of how to assemble them by now. I seriously doubt that I failed to double check to be sure all bolts and nuts were secure after assembling this, however it didn't feel level when using it, but the machine was since all the legs sat flat. Now that I have had it a month (but not even used it that long since as stated earlier I had to get replacement parts for this) it literally fell apart while using it! Apparently as you use the optional swinging arms for a full body workout as opposed to the stationary arms for support when focusing more so on your legs, one of the swinging arms fell to the ground. I have tightened it back up and if it comes loose again it must be that they supply the wrong type of nut. I have a feeling a replacement lock nut will solve this problem instead of using the regular nut as supplied. Because of this I have revised my rating and it is now a 2 star instead of a 3 star. If this falls apart even after replacing the nut I will change this to 1 star. I am so dissappointed in this purchase!2nd and final update:This is total crap! I have to tighten everything before my workouts and stop during use to retighten everything. My biggest gripe is the noise where it sounds like the pedals are dragging but they aren't. Why do they make the pedals use another bolt to attach them to the rear bolt section on each side? This should be one piece per side. These bolts by the pedals actually loosen some. The worst part is that as I use this I am wearing away the metal around the rear bolts (where my replacement bolts that actually fit have to go thru). I can actually see the paint wearing off. I thought it just needed lubrication so I use a non toxic aerosol spray specifically designed for metal moving parts (gym equipment and other items) everyday prior to use. No change even with that, the nuts and bolts get hot within 15 minutes of using this machine which is why I see the paint wearing off. I have found that they still loosen some I guess because of how wobbly this machine is. If I had not wasted too much time trying to make this work (and did not already toss the box) I would have returned it for a refund.Like I said before the rower works great. I have had zero issues with the rower I bought from the same company the same day. Now I am left wondering did I get lucky with rower purchase or unlucky with the elliptical purchase? I am not willing to try a third item from them to find out. Looks like I will start using my old Gazelle that always works in place of this elliptical.

Pretty much what I expected
This is a terrific elliptical for the price. It was easy enough to assemble that my 17 year old put it together for me, so that's a plus. It isn't super sturdy....I'm glad I'm not any closer to the weight limit. I really wish it had a cup holder, and I wish the little resting area above the screen was bigger. It's about the size of my phone turned sideways, which is great, as I tend to watch videos on the phone while I use the elliptical, but it's awfully nerve wracking when I go to readjust my feet, and the entire machine shakes and moves and I risk losing my phone to the tile floor. I will admit that I haven't read the instructions regarding the screen, but it seems to do just fine telling me how far I've gone and how long I've been on the machine. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, but I will be happy when I'm in a position to buy a much sturdier (and thus, more expensive) elliptical! I have had this machine nearly two months and have used it at least once a week since it was put together, so I feel I have gotten a good feeling as to the quality and usefulness of the product.

Better than most but needs work
I've ordered a number of these types in machines in the past with various degrees of success, but to be frank, most elliptical machines in this price range are pretty bad. You generally get what you pay for. If you want a professional gym quality machine, you're going to spend a ton more money for a machine that's well built but also very heavy. That being said, let's go into this one:1) Assembly: I'm pretty decent for putting together things like this. I'm used to Ikea products and the like. That being said, this was a royal pain doing by myself. It took nearly four hours to do. If I hadn't find a YouTube video to help me, it would've taken longer. The manufacturer admitted that it requires regular maintenance. While the flywheel which rotates is quiet, it does creak a bit which means tightening of screws. Not a deal breaker but a nuisance.2) Usage: Better than most in this price range. Being 5' 8", the stride range was closer to what I've found in professional models. The tension dial works well from fairly light to serious effort and I'm in good shape and can easily get my heart rate to 75-80% which is what I want. The onboard display is semi-useful. The pulse sensor works and fairly accurate as long as your hands cover all the sensors. The calorie counter isn't accurate at all as it greatly depends on the rider's height, weight, metabolism, etc. The clock works fine. I don't know how the recovery feature is supposed to help evaluate your workout. It's nice that it's relatively light and the wheels make it easy for one person to move. One annoyance is somehow the machine in the back keeps drifting to the right despite the "stabilizers". I haven't figured it out yet.3) Customer service: I do give them credit. When I had a problem about a missing washer, I got a replacement within the week and then does a follow up to see if it was working well which is more than most companies will do.OVERALL: Hard to put together with some minor issues. Better than most in this price range and functional for home use. Good customer service. But if you want a pro model, you need to pay the pro bucks.UPDATED 6/29/23 After numerous exchanges with Yosuda, they were not able to fix the problem and it was past the return period so I wound up tossing it out. That's a lot of time and money with nothing to show for it. Would not recommend buying. Changed from 3 stars to 1. Avoid.Final update 8/16/23 I will say Yosuda's customer service is responsive. They were disappointed they were not able to fix the issue and were kind enough to issue a full refund. Upgraded to 2 stars.
