Friends: True Stories of Extraordinary Animal Friendships Hardcover – Picture Book, May 23, 2011

I am a Newborn Care Specialist, and I am a Newborn/Infant Nanny. Buy more than 1. It is so much better than I anticipated. I expected cute little pictures of unique pairings of animals. I did not know each page would have a sweet poem about friends! I'm getting more copies.

I ordered the book as a gift after seeing an interview with the author on the news. I like the photos and general content of the book and I recommend it to others. My only complaint (why 4 stars instead of 5) is that the book is only about 32 pages long... a fact I missed when I first ordered it. I had hoped for more material. Maybe there will be a another edition, with additional photos and descriptions.

My 18-month-old son loves the pictures in this book, but the story is a bit long for his current attention span.

All humans, read this, reflect and allow the generosity and unconditional love of these wonderful animals be models of what the world of humans could be like. These relationships could change the destiny of our conflicted planet and refocus our energies to respect and care for all living beings, no matter how many legs or wings or colors they may have. Fabulous reading, and a warm reminder of how simple love can heal so much pain and loss.

Beautiful photographs of animals with a cute message about getting along despite differences. Great for baby or toddler.

Be sure to read the reviews before purchasing, I found the "poetic" parts of this book are suitable for young children only. I found the low-level quality of the poetry detracted from the effect of the pictures and stories of connection. I love the somewhat older book that is primarily photographs: Unlikely Friendships: 47 Remarkable Stories from the Animal Kingdom. I've purchased countless numbers of this book and find it a treasure.

I'VE JUST BOUGHT TWO MORE COPIES OF THIS BOOK AND I'LL PROBABLY BUY FIVE MORE AS CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR MY BOOK CLUB. IT IS A BOOK FOR ALL AGES AND STAGES AND REALLY TOUCHES THE HEART. "FRIENDS" REMINDS US OF WHAT MAKES US, AND THE CREATURES IN THIS BOOK, TRULY HUMAN.IT IS A WORD OF MOUTH BOOK, SO PLEASE, PASS IT ON.A LIFETIME BOOK LOVER

What a rip off , This book is only 15 pages long ...should have been described as a glorified pamphlet .

Das Buch wurde sehr schnell geliefert und hat hübsche Fotos. Hatte nur irgendwie übersehen, dass es nicht in deutscher Sprache ist. Aber egal, der Preis war in Ordnung und es ist dennoch ein schönes Buch.
