Seamless Scripture
Love that it's all Scripture - themed around attributes of God's character that go a little more specific and in-depth than most 'names of God' treatments. Thought provoking, short and well matched Scripture. I'm really learning from this book!

I love reading this book 🙂🕺
Was not sure if I would before reading it. But thoroughly enjoy it. anI’ve benefited more than my words can describe from reading the monthly ODB books, but not so much some of the other ODB literature. This book however, hit the jackpot for me! I find it very helpful how the scriptures listed for each day, from parts of the Bible sometimes 100s to 1,000s of years apart relate to one another. It has given me a much better understanding of God than I previously had. I find the message each day to be powerful and informative. For me, very helpful and refreshing. My knowledge of the LORD still less than a grain of sand, but that is more than it was prior to reading this excellently put together book 📕.

Lots of Scripture
I love that this book has so much Scripture in it! It's practical too, and has prayers in it as well. I believe I will use this regularly.Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance e-copy! All opinions are entirely my own.

This is a good collection of verses if that's what you're looking for
I like that this devotional provides a collection of Bible verses on each page to show God's character, but I wish there was more to it. I did enjoy reading through it and will continue to do so, but in a technology-based world where we can look up verses topically at the click of a button, this devotional just left a little to be desired. It is, however, organized nicely.

Scripture on the Character of God
Know Him (A Year of Daily Bible Readings on the Character of God) by Our Daily Bread is exactly as it is described in the title. After a poem at the beginning of the month, each day is one of scripture that contains the attribute of the month. Attributes of God include ones such as wise, good, glorious and creative to name only a few. The scripture is followed by a comment, prayer or question. It is a book that will have you thinking on God’s Word during the day.The setup is easy to follow, short, about a page, and gives scripture from the Old and New Testament. There is little context given on the verse, just the verse itself containing the word of the month. I would suggest if one were unsure of what was happening before or after the verse to look up the reference and read more of the chapter. The publisher through Net Galley provided a complimentary digital copy. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

Generally good Scripture support for God's characteristics
I like the premise of this book. It is almost exclusively Scripture. There is a comment at the end of each reading. It could be a short prayer, an expression of thanks or a reflective question. The egalley I read had formatting problems. I could not distinguish days and would be reading along and suddenly a new month would be given. I trust the final ebook will be formatted better. One aspect of the book that puzzled me was how often the Scriptures listed under a topic seemed to have little to do with that topic. It almost seemed like the editors needed three Scriptures on a topic and just picked some. For example, under Our Faithful, Forgiving God Prov. 19:11 is given. That's a passage about human wisdom, about a human overlooking an offense. Another example is The Holy Spirit Judges. Ps. 106:32-33; Isa. 11:3-5; Gal. 5:15-23 are given, none of which say anything about the Spirit actually judging.I really do like the idea of have Scripture for daily reading supporting the characteristics of God. I was just puzzled by some of the Scriptures chosen for each topic.I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.
